Yep, I remember listening to this when it came out. I remember being that teenage boy who applied this song to his insignificant relationship problems, even though they seemed so real and pressing. Hell, I probably even applied this song to girls who I wasn't even dating. Just some girl that I was being dramatic about. I remember walking around in the early 2000s, listening to the older people in their 20s being so annoyingly nostalgic about these things, wondering why they wouldn't shut up and enjoy themselves. I watched people who wanted nothing more than to go back in time to innocent days when the music made them feel real and alive, and I watched them become lost in their futures, becoming the even older people who had nothing but husbands, wives, or kids they were tied to for keeping them alive and sane. I watched it happen. I lived in the beauty of the moment, and now I'm just like those people who looked back into a past that will never, ever be lived again by anyone, no matter how bad anyone wants it. The beauty is gone, the moment is gone, and the world that opened its door to all of us is gone for many of us. We're not only looking into our pasts, we're also on the door step of the logical future. The car, the job, the spouse, the kids, finding joy in the must mundane and simple things, because we have no time to learn to appreciate the odd, off the wall ideas and experiences we had when we were younger. @savid7 not yet, but I know how being in love feels like, it was actually to a girl that I barely had any physical contact with, and it wasn’t online dating, it was a class project, I didn’t even realize how much I loved her until she said she was moving to a different country, she didn’t even know I loved her, but I’m sure if I told her how I felt, maybe there was a chance she felt the same way. Being love sick is a horrible feeling, but that is proof that being around someone for so long can create a cool bond. Btw one-sided love isn’t that bad lol, as long as you do see the person you love everyday, but it could be heartbreaking if they move on and you didn’t tell them how you feel. But that was the first time I fell in love, and I realized it was truly blind, you don’t get to choose the person you love, it just happens and you’ll be surprised who you might fall for.
