Matt’s explanation of how to use a match for training …is by far….the most valuable and articulate breakdown found anywhere. There are soooooo many layers to a match that Matt indicated. Thank you so much for your presence here…it’s what we all need…damn that’s good stuff…and truth. Pure. Simple. Truth.

The lack of respect and the lack of self awareness to admit that he is waaaaaaay out of his league is astounding. Chris, Matt and Nick who’s combined knowledge and real world experience is beyond measure give this guy every chance to back up his claims and even offer him a spot in their classes. He doesn’t even have the ability or depth of knowledge to explain his position BUT he’s got his own TH-cam channel for “LE specific training”. 100 % agree. Seems like anyone nowadays can pay or attend an instructor certified class and then go teach. Its pathetic. Unfortunately, LE has officers with two, three, four years experience and they become SME after passing a bullshit state certified instructor course. Its a joke.

  • @MickNelson-fb2qk

For most Cops and Military too (regardless of SOF), matches are very stressful. I went to USPSA when I had attended all of the "Advanced LEO" training in Texas. I learned more the first year in USPSA than 5 years of being a LE Trainer. Of my total 40 years in LE, I spent 32 training firearms for city, County, State, & Federal Academies. I was never involved in an OIS very likely because I had a shooting skill far above most folks (USPSA GM in Limited) which gave me confidence to perform effectively and gave me more time for other resources to avoid the use of Deadly Force. A 5 year Officer likely doesn't have the experience or training for this conversation......

    • @ggjuggosauri
      @ggjuggosauri 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

This leads to people with the ability to market themselves having an un-earned ability to reach an audience that assumes they have some sort of authority in this space.
They all pick a gimmic and ride it. For jedi it was the "wave" draw, aka an overcomplicated thought. For this dork it was the "my stock sits 1/3 higher" rifle connection. It's all just a waste of time

How the hell am I gonna get out of this?” 😂 Let’s not forget, he’s a cop carrying guns in public. His inflated sense of knowledge of shooting and may possibly need to shoot on the job at some point should terrify the public. And when he showed his rifle, he said “this isn’t my duty rifle obviously” then when he was asked about why he had goon tape on his rifle he said “because our rifle has to be black at work”. I thought it wasn’t his duty rifle. Which is it junior? 😂🤣

Not to mention we have 10th group GB’s that shoot our matches often. The SF community is absolutely using USPSA for training. Often they ignore USPSA standards and focus on more combative techniques. But it’s still a mix of competing and training for them.

This kid doesn't know, what he doesn't know. Dunning Krueger effect. He is however like the majority of police officers in this country. He is issued enough ammunition to successfully shoot the qualification and must leave any extra with the rangemaster. Police depts. that would allow an officer to shoot all they wanted are very few and far between. Departments only care if the meet the minimum liability standard demanded by the municipal insurance carrier. He shoots a little on his own and fancied himself an instructor. I am a 25yr LEO FA instructor. I am just gearing up to try USPSA. I feel like the concepts we were taught, are akin to public school teachers. We teach to the test. the test being a Q course in a flat range.

Everyone that “really wants to learn the gun” will leave the ego back in the car!
I hunt, I was a very good wrestler, I almost had to shoot someone twice.. one a roommate and the other was a gangbanger.
So I’ve never been in a gun fight.
So I know I don’t know how I will react.
As to fighting.. been there got the T-shirt.
Hunting.. all my life after age 8.
    So that’s my background.
Now I’m 60 and I daily carry. I’m on my church security team.
Why I train, at home and at competitions… I know what buck fever is.
To know your gun and skills stops negative self induced issues.

Finally watched the whole thing and my take away is this: Three guys on the video are at wits end trying to untrain officers that went through, very accurately describing, “entertainment”. It likely causes needless delays in actual evolution of course work and training for their customers. The customers they train to stay alive, to shoot well and keep innocents alive, and to send bad folks to the worms. Entertrainment gets people hurt, and this is the other side of the gun world that no one really thinks about, with exceptions of a few. If you’re reading this, please consider this advice: take training from some of these guys, or Ben, or other actual competitor shooters. Ask around if others have taken the class, what was their experience, what was their takeaways, have they continued with their notes for training and finally, have they improved. This guys came off kinda harsh, but this response would be the equivalent to a PractiScore board, reality.

Is the beef with risers the idea that they just aren’t useful? To me they have a time and a place, but it sounds like Matt thinks they are stupid as soon as you add a cheek riser. But maybe it’s just to get a higher cheek weld while also have the ability to lay more stock into you?

Pranka argues to argue. Foregrips in the way? How about the mag? Does a mag hitting a hood mean you shouldn't use mag? Complete bs that a forgrip is hard to use on barricades in real world applications.

@@jackglockstar He doesn't like foregrips on HIS rifle - not every shooter uses the same thing. Grow a pair and stop carpet bombing Ben's videos with anti-Pranka comments, this isn't your circle so go somewhere else little buddy.

@OklaState2 attack the argument. Not me. Barricade shooting involves driving the gun into the Barricade. It's actually how most support the rifle on Barricades. The reverse c clamp for walls in the same thing. High speed.

Man putting bs tacticool content on the same internet as Pranka is like chumming for sharks and going for a swim. Now I don't even feel safe posting videos about techniques I learned off early 90s cold steel videos. The real question though is will Pranka give me a free class if I'm willing to get roasted for 90 minutes like officer cake here.
