  • Creating an origami dinosaur can be a fun and rewarding project. Here’s a step-by-step description to make a simple origami dinosaur, specifically a T-Rex:
    Materials Needed:
A square sheet of origami paper (any size, but 15x15 cm is a good starting point).
    Instructions:
Start with a square piece of paper, color side up. Fold it in half diagonally to form a triangle. Crease well and unfold.
Fold the paper in half diagonally the other way. Crease well and unfold. You should have two diagonal crease lines that intersect in the center.
Flip the paper over to the white side. Fold it in half horizontally to form a rectangle. Crease well and unfold.
Fold the paper in half vertically. Crease well and unfold. You should now have a grid of creases: two diagonals and two straight lines intersecting at the center.
Collapse the paper into a square base. To do this, bring the top two corners down to the bottom, along the diagonal creases, while folding the side edges inward. Flatten it to form a smaller square with a flap on top and two flaps on the sides.
Fold the bottom edges to the center crease. This will create a kite shape. Repeat on the other side. Crease well and unfold.
Inside reverse fold the left and right edges. Open up the flaps created in step 6, and tuck the edges inside along the creases. Flatten it out.
Fold the top point down to the bottom edge. Crease well and unfold.
Create the head and neck. To do this, make an inside reverse fold using the top layer only. Fold the tip down and crease. This will form the dinosaur's head.
Shape the head by folding the tip up. Crease well and unfold. Make a small inside reverse fold to shape the mouth.
Form the legs. Fold the bottom flaps up, making sure the edges align with the center line. Crease well. These will become the dinosaur’s legs.
Shape the body and tail. Fold the bottom flap behind along the crease line, and then fold the tip up to form the tail. Crease well.
Stand your dinosaur up. Carefully spread the legs apart and adjust the folds so your dinosaur can stand.
Add details if desired. You can draw eyes or other features with a pen or pencil to give your dinosaur more character.
    Tips:
Precision: Be precise with your folds for the best result.
Creasing: Make sharp creases to ensure the model holds its shape.
Practice: Origami can be intricate, so don't be discouraged if it takes a few tries to get it right.
This simple origami dinosaur is a great starting point. As you become more comfortable with origami, you can try more complex models and designs. Enjoy your folding!
