- Manikaran is located in the Parvati Valley on river Parvati, northeast of Bhuntar in the Kullu District of Himachal Pradesh. It is at an altitude of 1760 m and is located 4 km ahead of Kasol and about 35 km from Kullu. The temple was constructed by Raja Jagat Singh in the 17th century. This temple is hugely revered as it belongs to Lord Shiva. However, an earthquake in 1905 caused damage to the temple and it was slightly tilted. The importance of Manikaran is also judged from the fact that devas of Kullu valley pay regular visit to this place on specified dates.
This small town attracts tourists visiting Manali and Kullu to its hot springs and pilgrim centres. An experimental geothermal energy plant has also been set up here. || Himachal Darshan ||

Nowadays from this vid all I can say is - hideous beyond belief. This is the carnage caused by overpopulation and, dare I say it, untrammeled greed. I lived there for almost 3 months in 1976. Incredible place, the local people very cool, no electricity, living simply, not much in the way of choices when it came to food. A great treat to make some dhal and 'cook' a potato in the little hot streams flowing down to the hot springs at the Sikh temple. Wonderful walking far up the Pavarti valley. Superb charas. Looks like absolute hell now.

Great video, but I want to enlight you that there are dispute going on amoung shiv temple local people's and gurudwara people both claims Hot water spring as per there own theory and beliefs.......and trying to manipulate believe of thousands of devotees with misleading story ...,, local people can give you good knowledge about that beautiful place rather than a person running buisness on faith🙏 at last Manikaran is known for gurudwara not shiv temple which it should be .... that's my perspective I got to know while my visit 🙏
