It was eggman but it working and hired the killer because eggman dropped the chaos emerald for sonic to take then the voice told him to keep the emerald safe so when he asked knuckles he had a bad feeling of the emerald and there were only 7 knuckles didnt remember having an 8th emerald so thats when sonic ran into the alley with tails and thats when the killer struck and it was shadow
