Good video that one and shows what can be achieved and the difference between awesome and still relatively capable. Having Ted as a coach for a day let alone just seeing him ski like that for real relaxed, wow.
Both good skiers but Ted Ligety is like Tom Brady. Legend! Must've been nice getting a lesson from the man himself. Great vid, can't wait to try these drills
Hello. All the videos always show how to ski correctly but none tell how are prepared the skis... I mean about the tuning of sole side edges.... It changes life.... Ciao
Fun video! Callum’s a great skier - Expert level, not a “regular” skier. Ted is next level. You need to redo this video with a middle age person with ski iq of 100 (average). I volunteer!
Don't improve everyone's skiing. I like to watch people from the lift & discuss all their mistakes. Mine is an instructional "how not to ski" dialogue.
Great video, excellent content and tips as usual from the Carv team. Audio levels were unbalanced though; the mic levels could have been boosted a bit to better match the music levels. The first transition at the start of the video where music comes in was LOUD.
inside knee is this guys prob. which is strange seeing hes young normally its people over 45 prob seeing everyone used to ski A-frame 30 years ago haha
What I observed that the ski of professional stay put like being screwed down in the bones of the legs while my skis of an intermediate are wobbling on all irregularities of the snow. I tried to fasten them tighter, I feel improvement but that cuts down the circulation and feet hurts and freeze. How tight are boots of professionals?
It depends. On races, they tight them up as far as they can, but I doubt they endure that torture all day when skiing for fun. The wobbling comes from 2 factors imo. First one being these guys are on really stiff skis that don't have much flexibility. I have entry level racing skis that are soft and allow mistakes. Tried once my coach's FIS SLs and oh boy do you feel like on rails. Night and day differnece. Second one being, of course, they have perfect balance and 100% uptime on tip pressure.
Lol. never seen someone fall over doing a J turn before. Taught someone this week on ice and they didn't fall. That said, the reason someone falls doing a J turn is the same reason all bad skiers fall, you leaned back. Good skiers fall too... but differently and for different reasons... usually inconsistent snow. 😊
@@CarvSki It is not about technique only. Champions of this magnitude are born only once in a while. You can work all your life on the technique and still get nowhere near Ligety. Ted, Bode, Mikaela, Odermatt-they are simply not human.
@@GregorPQ No. Bode is a fantastic athlete and great champion but Ted Ligety is among the handful of skiers in the history of this sport who had that OMFG THIS CANNOT BE REAL effect. He was literally mopping the floor with the rest of them in GS events. There hasn’t been a force so dominating in GS until Odermatt now.

Skiing with the pros is the best
Agreed, it's also a great example of how easy the pros make it look
Sick video, cool to have the pro teach the team ! Skiing like Ted is the dream

Thanks Joe - we may take you up on that

Thanks for letting us know Chris
Thanks!
Welcome!
Is there an optimal radius angle of ski for good carving?
Are the rental ski good for that or do you need special ski?
We are too old to be taught. Ankle flexibility is not there, which doesn't allow us to get low. Dorsiflexion is the key.
This is awesome. I am not a professional skier. I just ski for fun, but I wish to ski with an Olympic skier.

why am I watching? who doesn't want to watch ted ligety ski! 😊
Nice video, of course had to watch muted, but gladly there was text available.
Hey what size ski and radius were you guys skiing on?
Both are skiing the Head Kore 87s
@@CarvSkithat’s makes is even more insane :o!
thx ted !!
CARV for me is like ice-cold shower. With CARV all my complexes are back ;-)
Need to go back to zero level and start again!
What was Callums ski iq on that run?
Callum skied a 147 for his final run with Ted.
What ski radius is he using?
They are both using the Head Kore 87
lovely, than you@@CarvSki
My favourite #Edgemoments
Nobody can ski like Ligety. A well known fact.
He has a special technique

For a social media exec, Callum has the worst flat boring intonation on video - sooo boring I wanted to scroll past
We think Callum is great
