Nice vid, would of liked to see a comment on how much run up and throttle is appropriate for the recovery as a lot of guys seem to think that you need to floor it with 6m of slack to do it properly.
A little clearing the sand from in front of the back wheels would have made that recovery much safer using much less effort so that should be emphasized ! Jimmy
A well presented video on a 'snatch' recovery. However, it should have been prefaced with the most important message of all - a safety message. The SAFEST recovery option attempted should ALWAYS be the first option used and the safest is via the use of recovery tracks (you had 'em. They are seen in the back of the Bundera at the end). It's just not as testosterone filled and macho as a 'snatch' recovery.
you did a great job in your presentation. not toooo over the top, clear, concise and interesting. i wish all youtube presentations were up to your standard.
Hi Codywohlers, Tow balls are a single sheer bolt and are known to break in a snatch recovery situation resulting in damage to vehicles and in some cases, serious injury and death. Check out this handy guide about recovery points on vehicles for more information. th-cam.com/video/APuksmXZreA/w-d-xo.html NEVER recover off a towball.
Because it will break off and can fly through the windscreen of the rear vehicle that is being recovered and has killed many people who use the tow ball! Jimmy
They kill people, it has happened plenty of times in Australia! If you have a toe ball you have a tow bar, which means you can go and get a $50 recovery part and put it in there and live another day.

I totally agree
A tote bag full of sand would also work well in the middle of the rope.
Two dampeners is better than one. One on each end. Stop the momentum sooner when the strap or shackle breaks
What a great video. Learned some great tips from that, thanks.
.....and that's how it's done.
Thank you very much.
Very useful tips
If the vehicle towing doesnt have any of thos tow points cant i use the chasis?
Why are Australians hung up on kinetic straps as first choice? Ard they the best universal choice or is it just s adrenalin thing?
Just a quick question , I have an 80, is it better to snatch with rear lockers off or On when you’re on sand ?
On would be better, but will make little difference.
I Know this is an educational video but why not use the winch
Good job mate don't know about the seat belt ur hardly going to get thrown through the front window,
Let your tyres down first, WAY down even to 10 psi.
How about the “U”recovery that comes with the car?
That is a tie down point.
@@harmeetgp No. It is not. They are recovery points. Same as Pajero and Patrol.
Still better to upgrade though. More safety margin.
Witom ja z Polski łoglundom cie z haniknkom i momy prośpe godej że po polsku bo to cie nie idzie zrozumieć
2:40 why not use a tow ball?

it doesn't break off when you tow a trailer. (including slamming on the breaks, collisions, etc)
codywohlers it doesn’t break off because a trailer provides downward force hence the name “ tow ball”
When will you admit yank em ropes are much better than these snatch straps, no comparison you just want to do it your way even though your wrong.
