It’s really fun for me to see Kayla who’s from Kentucky enjoy the California ocean. I’m blessed enough to live at the beach I live in San Simeon and I can hear the ocean from my home. I can actually see the ocean from my home and while I know it is a real blessing to live here and I never take it for granted it’s a wonderful reminder to see it through your eyes. What a true blessing it is to get to live here I lived in the valley just south of Fresno in a little town (Selma) for almost 40 years before we moved here and we’ve been here now for almost 17 years . I now live where I used to vacation. Thank you for the reminder of how blessed I really am.

Kayla, just be careful buying those small glass bottles. Sometimes the colour comes off when they are not genuine. The ones with the pointy tops are called genie bottles.

My favorite video. Seen twice. Especially the sea lions, oh and Lil star fish. My granddaughter would have placed it in a bucket with ocean water and watched it till she was sure it was in gone then she'd send it to "fishy heaven". 😢 love this ❤❤
the sealions that were on the wood beams probably hopped up when the tide was higher. That's why the ones still in the water were struggling to get up there!

You mentioned the bag was scratched up. If it is leather, just polish it like you would a good pair of shoes. Probably you already know that but it's surprising how often people don't. Around here, leather couches are given away every day because the leather looks worn, but all people have to do is polish it with shoe polish.

I was born and raised in Santa Cruz. It was a wonderful place back then in the 50s and 60s. Lots of great memories. My parents owned a restaurant on the wharf (Hungry Pelican) and my aunt and uncles family owned a restaurant fish market there too (Carniglia's). Neither one is there now. I think where you ate was my parents now renamed. Loved your video. Thank you.

I’m pretty sure those elephant vessels are oil lamps. The wick would coil in the bowl part in oil and then feed out through the elephant’s trunk, where you would light it.

Those starfish are crucial! They feed on sea urchins, which are a huge problem along the coast since they’re destroying kelp forests that Abalone graze on. Thanks for saving the lil guy!

My grandson passed away 2 years ago. We took him to Santa Cruz for a fun vacation. 1 month before he died, we went back again. We ate at the same restaurant 😢

I grew up in Santa Clara and we used to go the Santa Cruz beach & boardwalk a lot. Matt has to take you there for 4th of July. They used to shoot the fireworks out over the water and they reflect back in the water. It's like watching a double show. We would dig lounge chairs in the sand and relax and watch the fire works. Absolutely gorgeous! Also you have to ride the Merry Go Round and The Big Dipper. If you have not been on a wooden roller coaster you are missing out. Completely different feel then the medal ones. Love it that you are filming in all my old stomping grounds. Brings back wonderful memories. Cheers!
If you like wooden roller coasters, you need to drive up past Seattle, Washington and cross the Cdn 🇨🇦 border and ride ours in Vancouver, BC! It is very large and very old!

Y’all made me homesick. I live at the beach now. It is packed in the summertime and very quiet in the winter. It was so nice to see a sunset over the ocean. I see it rise over the ocean and I haven’t gotten used to it ever after 28 years here. I wish I could go home one more time before I go home to Heaven.
I’m from California and my grandson and granddaughter was born there. We moved back to Kure Beach in 1996 because my daughter moved here and I couldn’t stand being away from my grandkids. Long story short, my granddaughter met a man here in Fell in love. He was from Sacramento Ca. Where he lived. She spent two years in Santa Cruz. 😂 came home to North Carolina after her dad died to be with her mother. Now she’s with that lovely man and they have a baby boy. Small world huh. You brought back a lot of memories for me. Running around California. Thanks.
