whoever gave that cat a ride to cali was a cat angel, and then it sent some one to find him at the right place and time just before the end and rescue,
@@SusanBelfast11- I don't think they "gave up" so much as they were probably on vacation and had to go home to go back to work. I'm *not* an advocate for leaving any animal(s) behind. They seem like good people who love their cat, and they ran out of options to search longer. It was wrenching to leave him. Otherwise it wouldn't have felt like they were abandoning him.
Wonderful story. Reminds me of a segment on Unsolved Mysteries. I think a cat was lost from an RV near Bakersfield, CA, and eventually made it to the owner's home or workplace in the Bay Area. It's good to see good things in the news these days.
Consider geography and time. It would've had to traverse several mountain ranges and open deserts before reaching California in one month. Aside from terrain, there are countless predators it would've encountered along the way. This is why the hitchhiking kitty hypothesis is most likely.
@@odesangel I have driven through California to Yellowstone. You don't actually go all the way over the Sierras, and then you worm up valleys and desert plateau to Yellowstone. Aside from predators, I would say the desert is more of a challenge in the summer and kitty certainly could have hitched a ride with or without humans knowing as well, but I like the story. And kitty certainly did end up headed in the right direction.
There have been several incidents like this, of cats finding their way home from ridiculous distances. Random chance obviously plays a part, thousands of cats get lost on vacation, but i wonder if cats have a navigational ability we don't know about? Glad this cat found his way home, obviously much loved.
Cats have a navigational ability and we do know about it. “As amazing as it sounds, cats do have a special ability called a homing instinct that helps them find their way back home. Although we don't know for certain how it works, evidence supports the idea that cats are able to use the earth's geomagnetic fields-potentially combined with scent cues-to locate their homes.” That’s why they recommend that you keep your cats indoors for a couple of weeks after moving, so they recognize the new place as home and don’t try to return to the old one.
God!! If you're in a strange area keep your cat on a harness and leash. I live near a National forest and it's heartbreaking to see all the homemade lost cat and lost dog signs.
I've never heard of taking a cat on vacation, a dog yeh lol, but a cat ? But seriously I think cats should be banned from national forests, as cats are fanatical killers of small mammals, reptiles, birds, amphibians. They have ravaged the bird populations in the UK.
Why take them with you in the first place? You're on the move and won't have time to look for them and they are unfamiliar with the territory. On top of that they seem to be blaming the Rangers for their own stupidity.
That picture of a hot spring behind the couple freaked me out. That water can cook you alive in just a minute, in fact a dog and their owner died after the dog had jumped into one and the owner attempted to save it.
It is absolutely amazing this cat survived Yellowstone!!! Even for a few nights when first lost! A house cat is nowhere near the top of the food chain out there! I also believe it hitched a ride somehow for at least part of the journey.. Think about it.. Bears (both black and brown), big cats.. Wolves in some parts of the park and surrounding area.. A literal gauntlet of animals that would love nothing more than to have this cat as a snack! So glad they got it back and mad respect for the lady who coaxed it out took it to the vet!!!!
I’m telling you, Siamese are some of the smartest cats you’ll ever ever find. I have Siamese that live 19 years she got lost in a house when we moved. She went exploring and there was this old house next-door. Something fell on her or she jumped on something and something gave away and she broke her leg. We couldn’t find her for two weeks. I called and called and called and cried and called and cried and called, one night about 12 days two weeks later I heard her crying in the driveway. I went out. She was dragging herself up the driveway with a broken leg. She was held bound, determined to get herself home to the point. She ended up losing her leg, we had to amputate because it had been broken almost 2 weeks and the bones were damaged beyond fixing..
Two weeks without food and water would have killed her so something else happened to her. I’m glad she made it home, but she wasn’t trapped without those 2 things for 2 weeks.
@@kaycep6819 she could catch mice in an old run down place or have had stranger give her food along the way. Also, cats aren’t as enthusiastic as dogs when it comes to drinking water
What idiot takes their cat to a national park and lets it escape? I've had 2 cats and 5 dogs in my life. Cats are different than dogs, if they weren't we would call them dogs, and vice versa. Both love and want to be loved, just in different ways, and must be cared for accordingly.
That's a good-hearted man right there. He has a soul. Watching him getting choked up made me feel that. He felt the Holy Spirit. They're both good-hearted. That's a great story.
Holy Spirit is not involved during those times. Unbelievers also cries. Finding and reuniting with loved ones of humans and loved ones does not prove you have the Holy Spirit at all. 🙄
If you take cats on vacations you need to be extra vigilant. We see them get loose all the time in RV parks, because the owners do not even bother trying to keep it from happening. We have found cats in the winter that all we could do was give them a safe place to die, be better pet parents.
These people were VERY good pet parents, the cat was on a leash and his collar broke away. Maybe you need to be a better person and not make slanderous statements about those who not deserve them! Pffft!
@@laurie1536 Of course cats have breakaway collars. They are supposed to. So why would you have a leash attached to the breakaway collar instead of a body harness?
@@memyoldie I never said it was a break away collar, nor did the owners. They simplky said the collar broke, maybe the snap on a regular collar came loose. Who knows but I doubt someone woukd snap a leash on a break away collar. The POINT is, that cat was leashed and it escaped through no negligence on behalf of the owers as the person above insinuated,
Cats don’t belong on vacations. As a cat lover and rescued I always tell folks “never trust a cat” as too much can happen. If you love them, don’t risk them in vehicles and on trips. I’m so glad the cat is safe, but yeah the cats shouldn’t have been on the trip.
I cannot imagine one of my doggies going missing....I mean they clearly wouldn't because where else would they get home cooked steak everyday?! Also, please make sure your animal(s) chip is up-to-date.
Anyone seen the professor pouncy video when a car backfires and he darts off into the woods the guy searches for him for hours and thankfully found found him it's heartbreaking. Thank you Alex and Universe please bless this lady!!
Omg rainbow !!!!! Glad you’re safe ! And back with your family 🤌🏻
So glad the cat got back home, after being rescued by this nice family. ❤😺
She says ‘I felt like I was abandoning her’ you felt right!! 5 days and you gave up!
Not to mention, who would take their cats to dangerous Yellowstone and not have them secured?
Lmao omg 😲
@@kimdawcatgirlI agree. Kind of dumb to bring your cats camping at Yellowstone.
Otherwise it wouldn't have felt like they were abandoning him.
cats are amazing
Wonderful story. Reminds me of a segment on Unsolved Mysteries. I think a cat was lost from an RV near Bakersfield, CA, and eventually made it to the owner's home or workplace in the Bay Area. It's good to see good things in the news these days.
Thank you God. I'm so happy he's safe.
I think they all got a miracle. 😊
Rainbow's excellent adventure! This could be a cable TV movie, a lot of people would watch it. Fantastic job to everyone who helped Rainbow get home.
Grateful this little one is safe, what an amazing story!
Tankyou Alex, I pray a lot of good things come your way
So, they don't think he walked. . . Are you sure? Pets have made some Incredible Journey[s]. Heck I read that book when I was 8.
Animals can navigate long distances.
@@encinobalboaright!
That’s what I was thinking, like who would pick up a random cat from a random spot and then drop it off in a different random spot
Poor kitty. I really hope these cat parents are more careful and responsible next time
most cat people just dump there cats outside very Lazy Pet owners
I am so glad for Rainbow!!! God bless the rescuers ❤
That's wonderful. And wonderful lesson for your boys. Kindness to animals shows a good soul!
There have been several incidents like this, of cats finding their way home from ridiculous distances. Random chance obviously plays a part, thousands of cats get lost on vacation, but i wonder if cats have a navigational ability we don't know about? Glad this cat found his way home, obviously much loved.
Yeah. The story says the cat likely hitched a ride. But that seems pretty unlikely to me.
Cats have a navigational ability and we do know about it.
“As amazing as it sounds, cats do have a special ability called a homing instinct that helps them find their way back home. Although we don't know for certain how it works, evidence supports the idea that cats are able to use the earth's geomagnetic fields-potentially combined with scent cues-to locate their homes.”
That’s why they recommend that you keep your cats indoors for a couple of weeks after moving, so they recognize the new place as home and don’t try to return to the old one.
Cats DO have a navigational system just like birds. Also they use the sun
@@Kloutkulture Do you have any details of anything other than theories? I've found lots of theories, but nothing more than that.
@@JeantheSecond-ip7qm Do you have details of that research?
Thank you for the lady’s kindness.
Don’t think God isn’t in the “little things,” He absolutely is! So happy for this family and the miracle they received!
What about the "big things" like child molestation, rape, war, and on and on ??? god is a myth !
What a incredible story !!!! It's like a movie. I'm glad he is safe. Thank you Alex for saving the cat .
It was, the collar broke, you can talk all you want but your age don’t mean you know what your talking about 😂
People who take cats camping are idiots and don’t deserve to have cats. We live in a gynarchy.
@@Trippin710 Lol collars don't break kiddo, you believe anything ppl tell you you will learn not to
@@tynao2029collars ABSOLUTELY do break it’s a mechanism to prevent animals from hanging themselves or getting stuck and starving to death
God bless that lady 🙏
What a beautiful story! Thank you, Alex!
Don't let your cat or dog lose in Yellowstone!!!
Yup..carelessness
I’ve had nightmares of my cats being off the property away from their house and barn. They tend to freak out if they aren’t seasoned travelers 🧳 😮
It was not intentional and lots of people live and travel in the RV and campers with their pets. It was an unfortunate situation that ended well.
God bless the beautiful kitty and all who helped him!! ❤❤
I'm not crying YOU'RE crying
❤
It is absolutely amazing this cat survived Yellowstone!!! Even for a few nights when first lost! A house cat is nowhere near the top of the food chain out there! I also believe it hitched a ride somehow for at least part of the journey.. Think about it.. Bears (both black and brown), big cats.. Wolves in some parts of the park and surrounding area.. A literal gauntlet of animals that would love nothing more than to have this cat as a snack! So glad they got it back and mad respect for the lady who coaxed it out took it to the vet!!!!
We need more feel good stories nowadays 😻
Made me cry
Aww...poor baby..still lucky to be back.
IN-CREDIBLE! I didn't believe it either until I kept watching
What idiot takes their cat to a national park and lets it escape? I've had 2 cats and 5 dogs in my life. Cats are different than dogs, if they weren't we would call them dogs, and vice versa. Both love and want to be loved, just in different ways, and must be cared for accordingly.
Susan and Ben. Thats who.
Thank you Alex Bitts , you are a kind human, bless your soul.
Thank you nice people
That's a good-hearted man right there.
People who take cats camping are idiots and don’t deserve to have cats. We live in a gynarchy.
Unbelievable Story 👍👍
I cannot imagine one of my doggies going missing....I mean they clearly wouldn't because where else would they get home cooked steak everyday?! But truly what an amazing, heartwarming story of people who took the time to care for an animal. The person who brought the cat from Yellowstone to Sac is truly something as well, it probably got away from that person too. Glad it has found its way home. Also, please make sure your animal(s) chip is up-to-date.
Steak every day? Damn, can I be one of your dogs??😂😋
However he made it home, Rainbow is an amazing cat!
When you love your cat or dog, you absolutely understand how wonderful this story is.❤
This also choked me up, and is a great story ❤
Anyone seen the professor pouncy video when a car backfires and he darts off into the woods the guy searches for him for hours and thankfully found found him it's heartbreaking. My cat used to walk to the shop with me it was only a 2-minute walk they didn't have cat leashes in those days but if I get another cat I will certainly buy one, I will get it microchipped as well you can't be too careful when it comes to your fuzzy little friends
Truly many little miracles in between Yellowstone to CA for this precious furbabe Rainbow to be reunited with its pawrents. Bless the kindness of the rescuers & who knows, perhaps another or others in between? Love such happy stories.
The woman that helped the cat, what an angel.
That’s a miracle 🙏🙏❤️❤️
Alex is an extraordinary human. 😍 ❤️ 🎉 😊 🎉
God bless you all for helping this beautiful kitten.

I'm so happy little Rainbow made it home. Thank you to the lady who helped him. Truly was a miracle ♥️♥️🫂
God protected Rainbow back to his loving owners. If only the cat could talk to tell us about his journey. What an amazing story.
HOLY MEOW WOW!!!!!
I lived in Wyoming for 30 years and that is a near impossible story.
If you lose your pet in Wyoming the chances of surviving are not good.
If you lose your pet in Yellowstone the smaller it is less of a chances it has.

This is incredible!
Don't get me wrong we do have animals even exotic animals that people bring as pets that survive the frozen tundra long enough to be rescued!
I have a $2,000 F6 Savannah hybrid that I rescued underneath the trailer in Laramie Wyoming.
Is that a truck or a cat? 🐈 😜
I am a cat owner of two! I would have been devastated losing one of my babies! What an amazing, heartwarming story! Thank you to that girl for being a guardian angel! Kudos! ❤️👍
