JK is protective towards jimin especially recent years. I think he wished he was the hyung, he even said something like that meaning. In Jk’s eyes Jimin is precious little hyung, means not a real hyung the way he sees him. So he dropped the honorific too.
Jimin does not need Jk to win competitions......he is more than capable! Also, it's getting tiresome listening to people talking as if Jimin is some kind of weakling, soft and feminine type guy. Jimin excells in four martial arts, several sports and has major academic credentials, including graduating Valedictorian. He is more of a man then most and just as strong as Jk.
