- ByteDance said it does not have any plan to sell TikTok, according to a statement on the Chinese-language social media platform the company owns. Under a new law, ByteDance has to sell the app within 270 days. Michael Shepard reports.
I would rather Tik Tok end than it being transferred to American Owner. That Americqn owner is going to make Tik Tok worse

If Bytedance is truly a regular business they would be no less than glad to sell Tiktok to the US. You make chucks of money in an instant, why not?
Instead they would rather giving up economic profits. This speaks the fact that Tiktok is built for more than making money and Bytedance is in fact a political organisation.
U.S is only interested in the algorithm so they can use it against you. And no they don't have to sell. The Company makes more money outside the United States

TikTok is banned in China because it is the international version of the app. TikTok as a whole is still very much legal in China, Chinese users just have to use the Chinese version called Douyin. Douyin is designed to allow the Chinese government to quickly censor anything they want. This is completely in line with their censorship policies for every other social media app, gaming service, or websites. Most versions of products in China are either heavily restricted to comply with Chinese law or are outright banned with a Chinese owned alternative available.
TikTok may be used to spy on people, who knows, but that is not its primary purpose. Its primary goal is to make money. Exactly like every other social media app. This US ban is a complete grift because the legislation doesn't actually create protections for user data from social media companies. It just ensures that the companies profiting off of our data are owned by the US or friendly nations.

So many workarounds even if it is "banned". To truly ban TikTok, they will need to ban VPNs as well. Will that happen? Absolutely not.

ByteDance should think of selling it the sooner the better while it can find a buyer.
That’s not how it works, also most countries instead of banning TikTok have passed laws to protect their data and users instead of banning TikTok. Also byte dance doesn’t need America to sustain their market value since they have popularity outside the US. And even if they sell it wont be their algorithm.
