Heroic Launcher is also must for Linux install for games as well. I run everything from Cyberpunk 2077 and old games via Heroic Launcher which integrates with GoG as nicely. Valve's work on Proton is the best thing to happen for gaming on Linux. When buying games now I rarely even think "Will this work on Linux?", and rarely have an issue. Not sure if this is consistent across all distributions, but PopOS! has been great for me to completely ditch Windows over the past 12 months.
Yea the time of Linux users having to keep a secondary boot of windows is slowly going away. At this point the only major reason someone would have to keep a windows boot is to run proprietary applications for work. Though I think that is also going away as most companies seem to be going towards browser based applications.
@@witheredtechnology yeah my last hold out was Vegas Video, but switched to Kdenlive as well. I’m less productive with Kdenlive, but for general software dev, much more so I’m still better off. Much happier with Linux in general as well, Windows has really become user hostile over the last 4-5 years especially (started with Windows 3.1 myself). Glad your video and others about practicality of Linux are getting pushed up on peoples feeds, good work 👍
I been using kdenlive for a few years now and it been progressing at quite a good speed. Sure it's still not at the others level but it's getting there.
oh my gosh I love banished! so crazy that this video came up while I was thinking about switching to linux. glad to know one of my old favorites can be played like this :)
glad to see other people are still playing banished. It runs with no problems on proton whilst i was testing it. So hopefully you won't have any trouble running it. =)
Yea I been using a Windows boot this entire time to game because that was common practice for linux gamers in the old times. Though I guess that practice will probably be phased out for proton nowadays. I guess I started my old man arc, and I'm no longer hip with tech. Lol
