I wonder if that will compromise the integrity of the plastic in the long run. Is sanding off the slightest bit of carbon fiber a viable alternative on a C/F shaft? I basically removed the paint and I had a very tight fit.

This is as close as we've got: th-cam.com/video/zrZQ-0xJhyA/w-d-xo.html. If there are already a bunch of extra holes it might be tough to add more but this should work for almost any shaft.
