Well done! I built roads all over my place with my HF trencher. On those steep hills I would put ditches on each side for runoff. It will help keep center of road from washing out. Keep up the good work!
that's an ambitious project... don't know your average rainfall there but a uphill driveway is always a constant challenge when it comes to erosion ... maybe allow for enough room in your cut for some drainage ditches .and maybe some gentler side slopes... maybe at least 6 inches of 2 inch clean rock for a base then another 6 inch of 1 inch gravel with fines on top of that.... use those bigger stones in your drain ditches and that should help in your maintenance...
Yeah it’s definitely going to need drainage ditches and i expect it’ll need maintenance just like the rest of my driveway. Its all uphill already so this isn’t a new theme
@@marchingmoto i gotta a neighbor who's got bout a half mile of uphill ... it's great to be on the top looking down into the hollar ... your work will be worth it...
You seem to be really getting the hang of the new backhoe. It seems to make the digging a lot easier for you now. New road looking good. It will be nice when finished.
Excellent. That is going to solve your turn around problems, well unless it's real muddy. A tractor with a box blade, root/rock rake, bucket, mower and backhoe would take care of pretty much everything. You're doing a great job.
Once it’s completely dug out I’m going to have another big load of gravel delivered And gravel it all. Yeah i’d love to have a subcompact tractor with all of the attachments someday
Sure beats a shovel and wheelbarrow. I hope you got the wall backfilled while you had the tractor. You mentioned it at the beginning but didn't show it at the end. Some may complain about the slower progress with smaller equipment, but lordy, they still save the wear and tear on your body. Projects like that don't need to be done on a time schedule. Steady progress is what counts.🤠👍
Gpod going. Great to have the equipment. I am sure if you look after your Dad's tractor, he will be happy to lend it again. If you can return it in even better condition, even better. Best wishes
Curious cat here...so I see cars in the background when you are talking like at 2:11 and other times. Is that part of the highway that goes past the front of the house? Or in front of the storage place I mean? Do you have access to get out of your property back there? When you make your driveway can you get out that way?
@@HannadayFLO I know, I am asking him about the road that had cars on it that was "behind him" when he was talking on the new driveway he is making. Not the front of the house that has the highway and storage buildings. If he has time he will answer. I am sure he will understand my question.
I agree with you, as you are looking up front area of the truck there are two dark tree trunks, and I don't think they are butterflies going behind them.
@@gailarnold2660 there is another road back there but there are multiple properties between mine and that road with no easement. My neighbor also has a driveway that looks like a road. So yes there is a road there, but the one in front that everyone is talking about is the only one that’s relevant to me. Good eye seeing those cars though they’re kinda far back there haha
Can confirm, you found a cat skull. Also, bobcat is my choice of machinery, they literally make attachments for everything and they're not really all that expensive. Though a tractor with a bucket and back hoe would also work for this project.
So happy for you with the progress you have made. Please take something with you for your lunch. You cannot work that hard on just breakfast until late. Now to watch the other video. Ps what’s a hog thing you were talking about… pig…are you looking for truffles?? You should be here in France🤣🤣🤣👏👏👏❤
Just want to say, what a hard worker you are, you're doing a great job, I'm proud to say you only had 128 subscribers' when I subscribed to your channel, you have done well. My question is why you are dressed like the Unabomber?
It’s just a sun hoodie I’m in the sun too much at work already. Most of my older coworkers develop skin cancer in their 40s and 50s I’m trying to avoid ending up like that also. Thanks for sticking around so long!
Why not drop the mower and get it out of the way? It has a 3 pt hydraulic hitch so it would be easy to disconnect, that would allow you to get up on top and push downhill with the bucket. Just a thought but I know you're a thinking kind of guy so maybe that idea won't work...

Hi Dalton, so glad you have the equipment to help dig the driveway. The new driveway will be worth all your hard work.
Good Job. I can't wait to see all your hard work pay. I enjoy watching your videos.
Glad you’re here! Thanks!
Blessing our eyes with two videos today ayyyeee!
Two videos in one day. Your wall looks great. Made my shoulder hurt watching you. Keep up the good work. Have a good Fourth holiday!
You too! Thank you!

Thank you!
Great progress and use of ur equipment.
Thank you!
If you ever come to Orlando on vacation and are itching to work, I have projects for you! Tree clearing, fencing, pool cage building, etc 😁
Great job so far! Got a lotta work done in one day!! Thanks for saving the maple tree 🌲

🎉 Great video, short and sweet and to the point with footage of the work in progress. Looks like either a sheep or goat skull. 👍🧓
Good job!
Looking good!!
Enjoy your posts and look forward to more of them.
It would be nice if Harbor Freight sponsored a few of your videos.

The camera is pointed at the back of his property and the highway is at the front. I watched at your timestamp and saw no moving vehicles.

Love the background music!
Me not so much. Would rather just the natural sounds of the work. Like the crunch of footsteps and the wind sound.

@@Kirk_Mcgurk pretty sure i said it in the video but the tractor cant drive up the hill. Doesn’t have anything to do with the brush hog being on it
get the back hoe up top of the hill and dig out going up the hill cutting your path
If i could get it up there currently i would lol thats why I’m building the road hahaha
Irl minecraft legend
Its so much easier in Minecraft 😭
That tree on the right from this view looks like a Sumac. Not a very desirable tree, it's scrub brush really.
Thats what i was thinking, something like that
Maple trees are barely more than scrub brush. They grow like weeds and are very messy. Cut it down and plant some walnut or oak trees.
Maybe a sugar maple? Yum!
First off, you have to stop and eat. You'll be more productive mentally and physically. 2nd, that's gonna be great for the property.
