I've come full circle - from Terry's 5 minute random code walk throughs to discovering your channel.

I only met you due to a huge coincidence (the story is too long for a YT comment). After watching a bunch of your videos (specially this one), I can say with confidence you are the answer to my question: "what if Terry hasn't a degenerative mental health condition?" The answer pleases me. We have someone leading the development of a new OS (which is not motivated by a "better Linux/OSX/Windows" idea), a nice community with some great contributions and a lot of hands-on videos of this OS in practice. I'm really enjoying watching your work!

I prefer to not show exactly where I’m driving. :)

The most intersting thing about TempleOS is, IMO, it is not yet another UNIX which frankly has been done to death. I alluded to this in a comment on another video but I think a weakness of Serenity is that it sticks too closely to tried and tested, yet boring, unix principles: plain text pipelines and files (instead of introspectable objects), the crazy terminals, limited permission model (without gluing ACLs atop). Its clear that the GUI and the IPC stuff is going to be awesome, but it's a shame that the guts of it has all the ideas from the late 60s. Terry was certainly right when he said osdev just encourages still more Unix thinking.

Certainly smart, dunno about "cool"... but his drive and intelligence were impressive for sure
