  • This video shows how to make a fishing bucket with two rod holders mounted on the sides. Some of you asked about it after seeing it in my other videos.

a few years ago i saw and old man just using a bucket with a brick in,,learned from ham and have been doing it myself ever since. like the pvc tubes idea! but i presonally keep mine in a milk crate for transport and use the crate as a table to put my tackle box on, puts it in easy reach from a chair. I've turned all kinds of ppl onto using a bucket as a rod holder,, now i might put a small ring of pipe on one to use as a holder, thx for the idea.

You can drill a hole in the pvc from outside to allow you to insert a screw thru the pvc side away from the bucket. Drill the hold so the head of the screw will pass thru. Then use a smaller drill bit the size of the screw shaft thru the first hole you drilled all the way thru. Insert screw thru the first hole then the second hole into the bucket. Add a nut to the screw inside the bucket.. make it water proof.I'd also add a screw about 1" from the bottom of the pvc all the way thru pvc side

Thanks for the tip! A friend of mine did the same with just PVC pipes cut at an angle at the bottom to allow a person to drive them into the ground. Only problem is, you had to have soft ground.

I would suggest putting nuts and bolts other way around and drill hole into pipe to fit screwdriver

Thanks for the advice - your solution would probably be easier than my hacksaw trick. :)
