If you cannot understand why what you said is fundamentally wrong, bad news for you. You can't 'remove' an ad, removing basically means accessing the website's source and removing the specific ad, which is most definitely illegal. Choosing not to see something is everyone's right, so if you found a way for your browser to not display ads, feel free to do it. And I even endorse that, since most internet ads are trash and stupid products that nobody cares about. Not to mention the stock market ads, who in their right mind would ever choose one of the stupid advertised software like etoro crap or gramarly for such jobs. Beyond pathetic.

One of the things I've loved about the field of CS is how its culture idealizes the power of the user. It is a common joke that the more control you give the user, the more you let their stupidity become your problem; but still, I know of no other field where something like the equivalent of corporate software publishing their source code for free, or rival adblock extensions working together for the benefit of all, is not at all outlandish to hear about. Considering how incredibly specialized their initial applications were, I think we're quite lucky that the philosophy of free and open source has embedded itself into the field from the bottom to the top. Keep fighting the good fight!

If removing ads is legal, I would like to remove all the ads I see in the street, metro and shopping malls.

This reminds of the battle between Light and L from Death Note.

If you're using ABP there's other reasons you're still going to see ads lol
