Savannah did wonderfully respecting and understanding Gabby's struggles during the interview and was able to redirect when necessary. Gabby's husband as well. This was a great interview. One of the best I've seen in years, honestly!

Gabby was a republican in office untill 2000. She signed up for the anti gun law party and got some full metal jacketed karma to the dome.

I remember this story. Gabby has come so far and has become a national inspiration.
She, and her astroNOT husband are frauds. Giffords went into the hospital for brain surgery alright, but her surgery was already on the docket WEEKS in advance....She was never shot. This was another scheduled DHS gun grab exercise.

I live in Tucson and the day of the shooting I worked at a bank, we were getting ready to close because it was a Saturday and closed around 1, so it was quiet and empty in the bank when suddenly this older lady comes bursting in screaming that Gifford had been shot. We had non stop news all weekend and it sadly looked like she wouldn’t make it. I am so shocked and happy to see her just healthy and doing well considering the circumstances!!
My partner was just shot in head in similar situation in a parking lot.. he is fighting in CCU for his life. Her story inspired me he will get his life back..
How is he doing? Praying he made it. 🙏

I hope Gabby understands nobody wants to rush her or make her feel bad. Anyone is willing to be patient and understanding. She can take all the time she needs to think and get her words and it's ok. She's a miracle and everyone is here for her.

We wish Mark success in winning his Senate seat and would love to see Gabby recovered enough to run for office again, should she want to. She may have lost ability to speak easily, butshe has a whole lot to say. I noticed very early in the video interview that the camera lingered a bit on my Senator from California, Diane Feinstein. She is being quiet, but she definitely has a horse in this race. Feinstein's law office was the first of these random hits. 3 gunmen came into her office at 100 California st. SF and took out some personnel. She wasn't there. Then as head of the board of Supervisors in SF she had to announce the murder of the Mayor, George Moscone and Supervisor Harvey Milk by a resigned Supervisor Dan White. Her husband recently passed but there she
is, doing her job. She isn't loud, but she definitely has a strong opinion about guns. Great interview. Can't wait to see the film.

BUT, You are right, we need to do more in the States about “Gun Control”. It’s one thing to say you want to be able to have weapons, but when does it stop? There has to be tools put in place to deter people from doing this. The people that support guns are the same people who should be getting angry and mad that “these” people are slipping by mild “gun controls” to cause these atrocities! Get MAD! Suggest something that will allow you to keep your freedom but will PROTECT innocent people from getting hurt or killed. We simply can’t allow this anymore. We just can’t sit by and say this is okay! We are the laughing stock of the world! If you are afraid of losing your liberties, I must ask the question, WHY?? Are YOU one of those people we should be concerned about? So quit your complaining and come up with something that will make both ends of the spectrum happy. But the KILLING MUST STOP NOW!!

I disagree... I think he should focus on his wife and their family. There are other people who can run that don't have family members struggling with health conditions. That's how I look at it.

I remember when this happened I felt so bad for her and her husband! Such inspirational story coming from a tragic moment!! Although I disagree with most democrats I do agree there's way too many shootings and deaths related to idiots with guns that are extremely irresponsible!!! Every action has a reaction. We don't fight to make places safer, we simply do.
Laws don’t stop bad behavior. There were already laws that you can’t shoot at Gabby, at kids in a school, etc

It wasn’t thoughts and prayers that helped her recover to the point she is now, it was modern medicine and science, and when it comes to gun violence it isn’t going to be thoughts and prayers we need to make a change - it’ll take work, compromise, and common sense, something Republicans all lack.

Whenever you say it’s gun violence you absolutely take away that an individual made a conscious decision to harm people. No matter what you do people will find a way to harm other people if they decide that that is their intention.
That individual would’ve done a lot less damage if the only weapon he could’ve gotten a hold of was a knife not a gun.
If the Giffords want to go after somebody they should go after the family of the shooter, they knew he had that gun and did nothing, it's not the gun it's the people. that do nothing.
Leland: He is in the slammer. Take a look at the statistics of other nations that have no 2nd amendment. We are out in the stratisphere so to speak. How many suicides could we prevent if we just didn't make it so darned easy to come up with a gun. We require insurance and driver's license to operate a vehicle. Not so for firearms

And how do you know that Gifford's alleged shooter is in the 'slammer'? He's only been seen in photos,...not one slither of video has ever seen the light of day that features this shooter.,........it's because there never was any shooter.
I worked in and around the area and probably bought some sweet tea at that Safeway. The people who worked in the neighborhood said the shooter had applied for a job at their convenience store. He was turned down ( all this was before the shooting). The people interviewing him said he had obvious mental health difficulties. If someone had done something for him before this occurred, it would be a different conversation. As the commenter above states, it is the person, not the gun.

If you want to make the world a safer place, remove guns from those in power, not from those protecting themselves against those in power.
