In NCERT, HC VERMA(books of physics) we get an example of cricket fielders catching the ball in a way so that they reduce the momentum of the ball to catch it safely without any injuries. So yeah fielders need to do physics on the field in cricket, lol XD

I haven't seen a single one catch by Johnty Rhodes. This is definitely NOT the best catches in cricket history.
Love how you keep being amazed that they are barehanded. The first time I watched baseball, I laughed so hard seeing those giant gloves while my American friends were just saying, "well, how else would they catch the ball" ... barehanded, that's how!
In cricket we have no-balls... If ball is directly thrown above waist or bounce it above batsman or steps after line while bowling then it is no-ball.... If it is a no-ball then batsman gets a free hit where he cannot get out in anyway rather than run out so he can hit with full power on the free hit and it a extra ball

Most of the catches are from the outfield or boundaries...The brilliant catches are also from infield, which are not included the video
You don't call it line judges or referees, they are called umpires. Not sure what you are talking about but there are no errors. You guys should watch t20 match on tv. Last only 4hrs. Same rules
By errors I think they mean penalties or fouls, which I think with my little knowledge of cricket are wides and no balls
They are just trying to compare it with baseball terminology....errors in baseball is when an outfielder/ fielder can’t make a play on an easy play ...just like an easy drop catch in cricket ...they keep a stat for error in baseball...

New Zealand lost 2019 world cup because Trent Boult caught the ball and went out of boundary line , so yeah boundary awareness is very critical in cricket .

Normally when you catch those high balls with that momentum the hands get numb for some time but these cricketers practice them more and more such that they can habituate for that pain

Mostly the catches near the boundary lines are very very tough and they don't happen every match. So if someone catches the ball but can't manages to stay inside the ground, it is still considered a good effort by player. It is appreciated.

Referee for cricket is called a "Umpire". Two on the ground. One near bowler side wicket, another perpendicular to batman side wicket. The two umpires(whenever they are not sure) or players(limited number per team per match) can ask for a camera/replay based umpire who is called a third umpire.

11:20 to answer your question. in cricket - the catch has to be complete. Once the catch is complete (filder has full control of the ball in hand - the catch is called complete), filder can even throw-away the ball its till is out. you would see most filder throw the ball in air after they catch the ball.
Thats also the reason why they dont cross the boundry line, when the catch is not complte (even after the ball in control, but the body is not in control - the catching is still in process while the filder is about to go out of the boundry) so they throw the ball in air, and come back to ground and complete the catch.
Cricket is apparently from an old Dutch word probably Kryced or something similar.
