I watched your video n subscribed your channel. It's really nice n informative. I am planning to go to haflong by road. How is the road condition after Mahur Tunnel? I am planning to drive my 4-wheeler
Hello Sir. Your Video was very informative. Can you tell me if there's Bus/sumo service available between Haflong and Lumding ? If I intend to stay for a month or two in Haflong for official work, will I find a decent accommodation in rent (not hotel) ? Apart from train, what other transportation means are available between Haflong and Lumding and how much would be the one way fare ?
Hello, Route from Lumding to Haflong is very good but bad from Haflong to Silchar. I have posted videos of my ride for both places and you can watch it. Moreover I am not sure if you will get bus from Haflong to Silchar rather you will have to rely on Sumo. I will recommend either using you bike/ car or book a train ticket.
Yes I explored the area both by Bike and Train. You can see my next ride from Haflong to Silchar here: th-cam.com/video/lNCMlnhDsxk/w-d-xo.html . I am yet to upload my train journey video.
I’ve always wanted to go to Haflong for so long, but don’t know why the plan never get accomplished. However, it was wonderful to watch the beautiful road through your video. And hats-off to you for riding so long distances on a scooter. 😃👍
Actually I broke my entire journey in 60 days and everyday I was riding in between 200-250 kilometers which is manageable. Yes You can also ride its easy with good planning.
You can read my this blog post to know more about my trip and planning. knowledgeofindia.com/a-bikers-guide-to-north-east-india-sixty-days-of-solo-ride-to-seven-sisters/
Thanks for your comment. Number of likes can't explain the beauty of riding on this highway. Indeed the road is awesome and the best in my life. I have ridden on most of highways in India and I can say the Lumding Highwayis the best. Raod frrom Haflong is very bad till SIlchar. I have posted the video you can check that.
I was searching for this highway for so long....finally found it.....it is beyond expectations...plzz tell me about the condition of road after mahur till silchar...i have heard its terrible
Gaurav don't ever think about riding after Maibang towards silchar. It is not at all highway. I was riding on rocks, mud, sand. I completed 60 kilometers in 4 hours on a two wheeler now you can get an idea.
@@gouravsingh8217 there are two ways to reach Silchar from Guwahati 1: Silchar via Meghalaya I.e. the Jowai route it is the best way to go. Second is the lumding-haflong route which is not recommended. Though construction is going on but it will take minimum three years to complete. The best way is train and I did that too. I will be uploading the train travel soon.
Yes After Mahur the road is bad but the reason I didn't show it is that by the time I crossed the tunnel it was dark and I couldn't shoot on my GoPro. I reached Haflong around 8:30 so you can understand the intensity of light by that time.
@@KnowledgeOfIndia Then the ending part of your video needs to be more informative for the audience, than your sudden ending style in some of ur travel videos without reaching the destination and leaving your audience clueless
@@sankurkilling8475 Thanks for your lovely feedback I agree there is a long way to go for me but the problem is I am not a video creator but focus more on traveling. Yes, I am learning more about editing and making videos more informative. For example, if you will watch my recent video I have started adding voice over. So yes I am trying. Thanks again for the comment.
Yes You can camp in Haflong but owing to its remote location and dense forest it is better to check-in to a hotel. Haflong has some decent and budget hotels so I would prefer a hotel over camping.
No camping is not safe bcz it is hilly place and wild animals like elephant can attack you in some places ..but you safe in hotels .. i m from Assam ..
You can camp, of course provided you have a local guide who goes to the forest every day for jhum, cane, oranges, wild boar, etc. because they know the forest better. Many villagers go up and down in the forest for livelihood almost everyday.😊 there are no incidence of any wild animal attack. Not to worry.😀

Yes they are now building roads. The area was neglected for a long time but now during my ride I saw a lot of construction work going on. I hope in next 5 years the condition will be far better.
I am not sure if it is due to Corruption or less vehicular movement but I do noticed that the edge of road was overrun by small plants. Overall it is a nice highway for all the riders.
Today I came through this road I am very happy seeing such transformation
This road is one of the best in NE India. A heaven for riders.

6:22 to 7:24 why are you driving on the wrong side?
It was because of some ongoing construction work. I had to take diversion and ride on the opposite side.
