The Lincoln fans away at Arsenal were superb. Those were true fans supporting their team that got so far.
I loved our FA Cup run in 2016/17 And i loved when we played arsenal even though we lost it was amazing
@@jottyr3553 outside our pub in Finsbury Park when Lincoln fans were walking past singing 'We're going to Wembley ', so I said you got a stadium tour lined up, both sides laughed and shook hands
They did great, but when teams like Arsenal is going to be your next matchup, you dont have a chance

that run did so much for them, now they’re a top league 1 club. the money must’ve helped big time.
it wasn’t even the money, i’d say regardless of the money they then knew they could advance further beyond where they were and it gave them a motivation boost

Growing up from Lincoln I've never been more proud to be from there after this FA Cup run. The fact we are in league one and one of the favorites to get promoted to the championship is honestly emotional to me it's just amazing

i grew up suporting lincoln and mostly support arsenal so when we had ticekts to watch this game was like a dream, lovely to re live the memories

As a Sutton fan, I remember their win at Burnley like it was yesterday, because we were supposed to play them that day, and had Arsenal in the same round. When the draw came out and it would have been Sutton v Lincoln in the Quarter-Finals if we'd pulled off a miracle, it was just brilliant, because it would have guaranteed a Non-League side in the Semi-Final.
And look at both clubs now - we're in the Play-Off spots in League Two and they're in League One.
Well arsenal won the whole tournament so it’s credit to Lincoln as every team who play arsenal lost/drew and lost in the replay so it could be kind of nice to know they weren’t the only ones
No replays I don’t think every team who played arsenal just straight up lost

As a Burnley fan Raggett's goal broke my heart that day, That said fair play to Lincoln, they deserved to win on the day.
Playing in emirates, against one of the biggest club in europe, what an achievement, regardless of the result, still won many heart of football fans

Unbelievable achievement for Lincoln City. 4 years ago they were at the 5th tier of English Football. Now they are in League One.
I flew from Philadelphia to London & took the train to Lincoln to watch the Arsenal match on a big-screen TV in the Sincil Bank parking lot. It was an amazing run and amazing fun.
I remember two months after the burnley match, i was on holiday with my lincoln shirt on in yorkshire , and there just happenend to be a group of burnley fans just outside a pub, and i've never had a more confident 10 second stroll in my life
What a dream run. Sad way to go out in the end.

I remember going to Sincil bank and watching the Lincoln City vs Brighton and Hove Albion game. At the end of the match I walked up to the barrier and had a selfie with the Cowley brothers and a couple of the Lincoln city players. It was a day to remember.

I think it's worth mentioning what a run Theo Robinson was on during their fa cup campaign. I think he scored 7 goals in 7 games during it
2016/17 was such an unpredictable season
This was only a few seasons ago and it's amazing to see that they are now playing in League One fighting for promotion :)

Ironic that their cup run ended in North London given that the only non League team to ever win the FA cup was the only and is the only North London team, Tottenham Hotspur.

Still looking back on this 6 years later with pride. Was the year I was dragged away from Lincoln but spent most my life there. Missed.

One of the FA Cup’s greatest stories, but you know what the best part is? It meant so much to every single fan home and away, the wild celebrations, the incredible numbers travelling to Turf Moor and the Emirates. The fact they dumped out a weakened Brighton made me smile, and Arsenal in that quarter final couldn’t even fill their stadium. Look at the amount of empty seats! Sincil Bank would have been sold out in minutes, seconds even. Seeing a team who care about the FA Cup warms my heart. Hope to see another cup run in the next few years!
To be fair, they care about it because it's a potential cash cow - the same exact reasons the top clubs prioritise the other competitions. Comes to the same thing really.
@@moluther2826 it’s still a competition that is so historical and well known around the world that it deserves respect. Not just from the teams that need the money. It is the literal play-out of a knockout all the way
@@mrgreatbritain I'm not disputing that. I find it regretful that the Cup isn't respected anymore, I'm just saying that club's interest - or lack thereof - in it depends entirely on what they stand to gain financially. That goes for Sutton and Lincoln just as much as it does Arsenal.

Grimsby Town were just promoted from the National League to League 2 last year after a crazy playoff they had, they are now just one win away at Brighton from reaching the fa cup final four
If it happens they will surpass Lincoln City and will become the lowest tear league team to reach the fa cup final four😳😳😳
