Also I don't recommend doing 5-6 attacks if your opponent doesn't or can't do multiple attacks. The reason for this is that you'll have major issues with cycling and the deck will soft brick. I recommend going steady and just doing 4 attacks a turn and keep the engine steady and flowing cause until we get a support that can guard with more than 1 card from the bind, the engine can and will clog.
While I definitely agree with this we will be entering a meta where 4 attacks just aren't enough for direful dolls to stay relevant. I do however have something in the works that I'm cooking 🤣. - Ophiasake
As a beginner who recently started has been to locals about 4 times this video is incredibly helpful in understanding how to pilot Direful Dolls better! It's one thing to watch people play but hearing the thought process is super useful. I've been enjoying the resource management part of the deck, I just need be quicker at decision making so I don't press for time ^^; With the new support I got a few questions to ask: How much do you change your approach with Shelby? Would there be a reason to run Zyra? Thanks for the video! I hope to see more Direful Doll content :)
@AvesAster Shelby is essentially another great form of recycling our pieces just like pelagia and liberata but what i love is thst we can hit higher numbers than we could previously thanks to it being a 10k body that can get up to 15k power. Having that behind an 8k makes even better magic number than we could before. The retire on top is honestly just the icing on the cake as we now have a pretty nice form of removal. I hope that answers the first question. 😅 In regards to zyra she's okay and she does have some niche scenarios where she's not bad (e.g. we go second and we have 9 energy so we energy blast 7 to draw 1 if we are in hard times but can use zyra to bind herself at the end of battle so we at least get one multiattack). If we draw into 2 zyra on out g3 turn we could use her to accelerate our energy to setup an additional five attack turn in the future but if we do that we would have to make zyra be a priority of getting into the soul so that we could use her to get that final energy so we have finally gotten 3 energy for provvidenza which sadly in the end is alot to commit just for an extra attack so I'm not the biggest fan of her but maybe in the future she could have some potential but would have to wait and see. Lastly yep I will be doing more doll content in the future as I'm very passionate about this deck hahaha. I do have an idea for the direction I want to take the deck for festival and once I get the cards I will be making a deck profile and will go over a couple new plays you can do in the deck. I'm also very glad that this has helped you as the aim for this video was to help people who wanted to play the deck but either didn't know where to start or had the deck but maybe wanted to see what else the deck is capable of that they may have potentially not thought of. - Ophiasake
