I recently packed up everything I don't use regularly in my kitchen and stored the boxes in my storage building I have in my back yard.. My plan is to leave it there for 3-6 months.. if I don't miss the things those boxes will be donated without opening... I'm now applying that to every room in my house.

Due to the situation,(covid),and it getting colder, hubby and i are slowly stocking up on what we need.we have soup,pasta,tons of rice,side dishes,tuna,peanut butter. Oatmeal. We keep stocked up on non perishables,but we need to restock the fridge and freezer.
In our last move this July, i downside the kitchen even more. I got rid of all the muffin pans and anything else I haven’t used over the last two years. It’s so freeing. I too like my counters clear. Only the coffee pot is out. Love your kitchen! That keurig is so cute.

My kitchen has been expanding by "gifts" that got .. Inheireted, small things. I will work on it this August. But the toaster stays on the counter its been used at least 5 times a day to defrost bread or waffles. feels practical to me🧇🍞 tried without but did not feel right...
👍💜 keep it simple and less decisions. I adjusted my kitchen cabinet shelves with the little silver thingies that hold the shelf in the place and it made a huge difference. It means everything is closer to the bottom of the cupboard for me, a 5 footer, to reach. Try it out in yours and see what you think! Rewatching to make sure I'm still doing a capsule kitchen. I've done well. Dumping the plastic crap & keeping necessary non electric tools in 1 divided drawer. Food preservation tools & accessories have their bins in lower cabinet.
Yes! I haven't called it that but, absolutely I have a capsule kitchen. We have a quite small house (on purpose), our kitchen is super small, so we have streamlined items in there. Capsule food is perfect for the food shortages that will be coming again as Covid 45 ramps up again this winter.

My toaster, electric kettle, and French Press are stored in the cabinet. The kitchen aid mixer and fruit basket are the only things that stay on our counter tops.
Consider a French press, I don't drink coffee often but I've familiarize myself with it enough. Many compliments come from guests on coffee in our home, i gifted my dad the brand of coffee I use and he said it wasn't as good as when it's made in the French Press
I don’t think I’m going to go all-out on the minimalist kitchen, but I’m kind of already living it! I have a roommate and we share a kitchen from the 1960’s. And I had to rip out the best drawers we had here so that I could put in a refrigerator! So now, I have half a refrigerator (and half of the built-in freezer) and the built-in corner cabinet. I have eggs, unsweetened almond milk (it’s delicious!), generic cereal, peanut butter, and water bottles that I just keep refilling and reusing. Those are my main items!
Moving into a new apartment soon so everything I dont use often are in boxes. It puts in perspective what I need and dont need. I think now I will go through those boxes and declutter. Thanks so much!

Brilliant concept, Kate...it will probably really catch on in social media! I've been weeding out my kitchen for a few years now, too, and it's SO freeing! We're tight on space in our small condo, so every square inch of storage matters. I was thinking about the cupboard with the fish tank and cookie jar....if you do relocate those items, perhaps your company dishes could move to the top shelf; leaving the eye level shelf for things you access every day? As with real estate, the functionality of our kitchens is all about "location, location, location!" I love your energy, enthusiasm, encouragement and great personality SO much, Kate, and I wish you every success on your channel!

Hi Kate 02/06/22 Coffee grounds tip coming atcha! I remember you sharing that you didn't like the smell in the trash. So my idea is to have a bag in your freezer to empty the used grounds into. Then on bin day take it out the freezer and dump! I've been doing this with veg peelings and it has really helped to have no smell!

When I remodeled in 2016, I did a capsule kitchen. Love it! Even got rid of the microwave. K-cups are terrible for the environment, so I'm glad you switched to the reusable!

You do a great job with your coffee k cups, reusable and a bag of coffee does go a lot further than 12 k cups for $10. And you create a lot less plastic waste. It is awesome I just do drip myself but my does does have the k cup option, I just use it for guest.

I love your clean kitchen, Kate! Unfortunately, my kids would probably starve if I didn't have the toaster oven, air fryer and microwave on the counters at all times! Lol We also have two coffee makers because my husband only uses the Keurig and I prefer the auto drip coffee maker. I do plan on buying a combo unit that does both, however so we can just have one in the kitchen, but for now, this is my reality! Lol It's definitely different when kids gets older. At any given time, there are 5 people in my house, eating something. For me, taking appliances in and out on the daily just to cook something would be more stressful. The trade-off is I don't have clear counters but I'm just a few years away from being an empty nester, so for now, I'll embrace the counter appliances, keeping them clean and my counters clean and know that one day, I'll have plenty of time for sparse countertops:) I have gone through my pots and pans just recently. I inherited my mom's set when she passed and I cannot get rid of them but, I also don't use them. Instead, I've decided to keep them and start a " new home" container for when my 21 yr old moves out on his own. Stuff like pots and pans, dishes, etc is expensive and it will be nice for him to have things to start off with that doesn't cost anything. My mom did this for me when I was younger and it helped so much! I think everybody has to do what works for them at any given season of life. Glad you found what works for you!♥️

I make toast in the oven now ( after the toaster died).
