You rode the Zermatt train to the top and then you skied to the Gifthittli? Did you take the blue piste, Gornergrat, Riffelhorn, Rotenboden, or Iglupiste? Gifthittli takes you back to where the Zermatt train originally dropped you off?
Hi, I'm not really that familiar with Zermatt, this was my first time after serveral years of skiing there. However, if you check the description, all details of the route and lifts are there.
In 2026 finances naturally permitting as I'll be doing three Swiss resorts I might try Zermatt if I'm ok by then on reds, might be Jan, Feb or March. Might even have a pair of Stockli's or it arch rival Kastle, as at my age I want just a 1 ski quiver.
Terrific video, but too short. That train was very cool. I don't think I've seen that before in your videos. The snow and skiing were fabulous and I really wanted to see more. On the train ride, the Matterhorn was labeled "Other Side." Is the opposite face called "This Side"?
I thought that might be confusing. I wanted to remove it but couldn't re-upload the video. I meant the other side of the train. Next time I take that train, I'm sitting on that side, and I think the views are incredible... there are more videos to come, Zermatt is one of the greatest...
Time spent on lifts is similar, but Verbier is freeride / off-piste heaven... Zermatt has incredible views... not saying that Verbier doesn't, just not as famous...

Yeah, sounds good. It's a great resort and you can ski into Italy but more pricier than others, arguably the most expensive resort in Europe...
