  • Since it's pieces are held together by a rubber band this cube starts turning into a snake when you pull the parts apart. Easy right? But can you bring it back into its initial shape?

    I bought this toy from a carnival when I was young but it was green and white checkered and the string/rubber(?) connecting the pieces was pretty loose. I ended up finding the solution by luck. My 10 year old self was so fascinated by it 😂

      exile arashi there's a version of that serpent but with triangular segments instead of squares. It was popular back at my school. It can turn into a cube, circle, ring, and even cranes, giraffes, and other various shapes.

    • @Mr.Puzzle

      The idea is pretty cool. Are you going to make another puzzle? Like what you did with the Truncated Icosahedron Dexterity Puzzle?

    • @Dargonhuman
      @Dargonhuman 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wood imagine there's a pretty straightforward mathematical formula to the design and construction, like there are 6 corner pieces that all have to have a specific type of joint to work (because two of the corners are the ends of the "snake" and don't have the same joints), and the joints for the other 19 pieces are also likely quite specific in how many and what type are represented with the centermost piece having the most unique joint.

  • @ianbeach5861
    @ianbeach5861 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    It's obviously a high quality version of the puzzle, but there are so many versions of this thing and all of them (that I've seen) use the same configuration. I guess that configuration is nice because it holds it's shape easily, but I guarantee that there are others that are just as good, but nobody produces them.

    I had one of these as a teen. Took me months to solve it. Didn't solve it till I took a step back and said "You know what, I bet they did something weird, like basically tie the string in a knot". 5 minutes after that, I had it solved. I was right, I put it together so the middle was open like a donut, and put the final arm down through it.

    Neat puzzle but dont fall for the "life time guaranty" sales talk. Many companies of lower quality use that because it is so cheap that it doesnt matter if a few customers come backs and gets a new one. For my self I wouldnt bother because I would get the same crap again. So for me a "life time guaranty" or "10 year guaranty" is rather a sign for me that this is a low quality product. Real good quality products or tools usually dont have these kind of statements.
