The interception at 4:27 is the worst out of them all. Mac had a clean pocket, then inexplicably ran towards the sideline and cut the field in half, only to then throw back across the entire field right to a defender.
It's bad. Real bad. However, 6:10 is a sure touchdown for a high school QB. The first read is wide open from 20 yards away with plenty of end zone room and Mac underthrows him by about 7 yards with zero pressure in his face. He panicked at the sight of a defender, throws off his back foot for no reason, and puts an absolute floating duck right into the defender's chest. A touchdown that turns into a pick off an awful throw, with a bad read, bad footwork, and minimal defensive pressure that could have even been lessened further by altering the protection a bit (what the RB does here isn't very productive)--just failure in all areas from the QB spot.

A lot of these deflected passes are from poor ball placement or throwing to receiver who's well covered or both (not putting all the blame on him. His receivers needed to make a play). The pick from 1/15/22 against Buffalo (38 seconds) is a textbook example of what im talking about. #85 is well covered by a defender who has inside leverage and can easily make a play on the ball while #16 is wide open by the sideline. He opts for the risky throw and the defender immediately makes the play. #85 never had a chance.
Not defending Jones or anything, but I notice his receiver couldn't catch or offensive lines cant block and pressuring him for a lot of the INTs. Yeah some interceptions like 3:00, 4:27, 6:10, 6:58, and 7:06 are completely his fault from bad reads, but a lot I've noticed are tipped from the receiver and the offensive line is getting beat by every play.
Every time i watch videos like this, i always think the same thing - a batted or deflected ball should not be counted as an interception. I see your point. And I don't always agree with the way he's piled on in NE. But man, a lot of those picks were beyond awful. Like terrible stuff from a guy with no confidence. The receivers NE has now aren't the best but his throws too leave some serious room for the defense to cause problems. Either a knock-down or pick.
not a pats fan but I am watching some of these going "it's not Jones's fault that the football slipped like butter through these receivers hands." Some of them are his fault no doubt but certainly not all of them.
The jump from college to the NFL is, understandably, a big one. But even that said it's still perplexing how a QB that played for a big time college program (and played very well) could be this terrible in the NFL. But I guess it's often the case where the line between success and failure is a thin one. It doesn't take much and this is just another example. This video puts a lot into perspective because I'd say 40% of Jones' terrible play to this point is the fact that he has no help at WR. Far too many passes bouncing off of WR hands are the easiest passes to pick off for a DB. But if a pass isn't deflected I notice that almost every other INT the DB is making a beeline and jumping in front of the wideout because Jones is staring down one option. He's not looking off to go in another direction and that essentially gives him only one side of the field, making the defenders job that much easier. He's not in Kansas (uh, Alabama) anymore but even in college Mac Jones must have done this in some capacity in order to have led Roll Tide to a national championship. It doesn't make any sense for him to have never learned this. He's got to relearn what he already has learned if he has any hope of sticking in the NFL. The rest is up to his wideouts to catch the ball. Time will tell.
It's a great lesson on the psychology of regression. Just because you learned how to do something doesn't mean you're actually going to do it under stress. Once you're put under stressful situations often enough, it rewires your brain for those situations to do something different than before. This is what ruining a QB looks like. Everyone is just shocked because it's the Pats and not the Bears.
Mac Jones was a baller at Bama, how he’s developed in the NFL is heartbreaking to watch. Like a slow motion train wreck, you feel so bad but can’t stop watching.
He honestly throws a good ball I hate to say it. If he had even slightly better weapons and a competent coaching staff I fully believe he could be a functional starting QB.
He makes bad decisions, has narrow vision, and has a weak arm. As a result, he tries to force the ball where it shouldn’t go, and his ball is so often floated, that it’s easy to make a play on. He is easily baited by a defender.
Look I´m not Patriots fan at all and I don´t like Bellichick and that whole franchise, but I feel sorry for Mac Jones. Is it really necessary to make a Video like that? Maybe he´s just not ready to be a starter yet, maybe he just needs a year or two as a backup somewhere else?

I see your point. And I don't always agree with the way he's piled on in NE. But man, a lot of those picks were beyond awful. Like terrible stuff from a guy with no confidence. The receivers NE has now aren't the best but his throws too leave some serious room for the defense to cause problems. Either a knock-down or pick.
not a pats fan but I am watching some of these going "it's not Jones's fault that the football slipped like butter through these receivers hands."
Some of them are his fault no doubt but certainly not all of them.
Most of these were because the receivers bobbled it. I'm not a Mac Jones fan, but he doesn't have much help out there from his offensive line.
Bills catching almost half of the plays is hilarious
Would be nice to play him every week lol
@@CrunchyCarotFr it would be football heaven if we dealt with Mac every week. I'd never be mad watching football
I didn’t know I needed these compilations in my life until now
😂 bro shouldn't even be in the league.
First one minute of the video we’re deflecting pics 😂😂
The worst one in my opinion was the one at 6:10 against the colts in Germany. Just an awful throw and the guy was open.
Plus he didn’t get hit or have the ball tipped. That was really his best throw.
Doesnt hurt to remind your receivers that they arent playing volleyball.
Uncle Rico wouldn’t have thrown those interceptions
Dude panics when he's about to get sacked and just chucks the ball up.
XFL bound
He could succeed there.
@MicahGivens-cn9po he would succeed at possibly working at a McDonald's... (possibly)
Ik this is an interception video, but man I just kept waiting for one completion 😂
Stinky Macaroni and cheese jones
The interception VS colts shows Macs IQ at quarterback smh … wow
He honestly throws a good ball I hate to say it. If he had even slightly better weapons and a competent coaching staff I fully believe he could be a functional starting QB.
You're supposed to throw the ball to your team, Mac.
The Patriot dynasty seems like a distant memory
He makes bad decisions, has narrow vision, and has a weak arm. As a result, he tries to force the ball where it shouldn’t go, and his ball is so often floated, that it’s easy to make a play on. He is easily baited by a defender.
The fact that he’s only started for 3 years and he already has 7 minutes and 47 seconds worth of interceptions is alarming.
Mac Jones has Gunslinger mentality but is loaded with a Ghinsu in the fight
Seeing the Patriots franchise crumble is poetry. *Chef’s kiss*
Not really poetry, more like inevitable.
The fact that theres 8 minutes worth of interceptions
Don’t worry midget bust Bryce young will have a 15 minute video of lowlights after next season too.
Yeah I feel bad for him too, this was definitely his childhood dream and now it’s slipping away from him. With a few years as any teams backup QB there’s a chance he’ll improve and get more time on the field someday. Thanks for the comment though, your empathetic opinion needs to be heard more often! (I’m also working on gathering the clips for every Mac Jones running-play, which is a more positive perspective on Mac)
mac sucks donkeyballz. leaf > mac
Seriously? He's a grown man that gets paid a lot of money to throw the ball to his team. He sucks at it.
@@jodyfoster9278part of it is that he has had a new offensive coordinator each year and it shows, when he gets pressured he panics and tries to throw the ball up instead of taking sacks or throwing it away to the sideline
@@bobishumin4853 Listen Edlemans comments about him having different coordinators, he said that McDaniel and Obrien's offense is almost identical, and Patricia's offense was basically the same thing. But if you watch the video you'll notice the biggest thing is that Jones throws picks regardless of who the OC is.
This is a good video bro… you should have more subs
The Saints play in a different conference and like a quarter of these were to them lol
i learned 2 things from this video:
1. mac jones is a human being and human beings make mistakes, albeit sometimes some ugly ones.
2. an old lady pushing a shopping cart would be an improvement at wide receiver for the patriots.
3. MAC JONES IS A BUST😂
@@TrayMelendez55 and he’s made more money than anyone in this comment section than we will in our life time. Wild.
@@gorzenstein when you have zero defenses for someone so you have to resort to bringing up how much they make be like:
Fr tho what does that change? Is he not a garbage QB cause he's rich or something lmao
@@marionluigi6517 my defense was in my original comment. I don’t have an opinion on Mac either way. I do think he’s surrounded by almost zero talent, I think their OC is a hack, and I think he was drafted in a bad situation. But if we’re being honest Brett Favre’s interception montage has picks that are way uglier than any of these and he’s a HOF QB and regarded as a top 10 QB of all time. Idk, maybe Mac is trash, but a good chunk of these picks I see some horrendous o line, WR, and play calling.
How can this guy continue to play in his position 😂😂😂😂
Thank you so much for this.
😂
Mac Jones belongs in the CFL
I counted 36 interceptions:
- 22 of which I thought were purely Mac’s terrible judgement
- 8 of which the ball hit the pass catcher’s hands and I thought was their fault
- 6 of which I thought the defender made an excellent read on the play
Mac needs to watch more tape.
Ps, not a Pats fan
Hey, mac jones here, thanks for the feedback. make sure to like and subscribe
i was about to comment and say that this is all a bit harsh since all of these ints are coming from WR blunders... but then i realized i was only 1 min into the video
You see, this shows that Bill Bill a Check just isn't a good coach. Because if he was a good coach, he would go out there and make Mac Jones throw a touchdown everytime.
Fr Brady built bill not the other way around
A LOT of these arent his fault. Belichick has picked some of the worst reveivers of all time.
He needs to step down as gm
Remember whe he looked like the best 1st Round 2021 QB? Life comes at you fast.
