This video is good, the ax target looks great, the only issue I have is that your hair is not as long as it could be. I feel that if you grow your hair for a little bit longer and use an industrial fan to blow while you are filming that your hair will be even more majestic. I will wait for the follow up video in a few months to see how your hair is coming along. Great job so far, I am following along at home by not cutting my hair as well. Thanks, I will be using an ax holding board up for my ax's as well.

Haha that's the best comment. My hair takes so long to grow, you'll be waiting for a while I'm afraid. : )

@@ArtfullyRogue try Wow shampoo. It sounds girly, and I am in fact a girl, but it made my hair grow a ton faster. I have waist length hair and it's grown a bunch. Also, massage your scalp, it increases blood flow and will help, too.

Dude... Bad Ass. My wife sent me this because I might have torn up the fence a little.. Sort of.... But hey, the target is great.... The 70's starsky and hutch vibe in slow mo tho... That was the ticket! You are THE man! Outstanding!

This is a great instructional video! I've made 4 of these now to sell or give as gifts and I have just a few tips.
    1. Put a board across the top. I use a 2x4. Water gets between the plywood and 2x10s and grows mold fast. It's not perfect, but it should help.
    2. If you're going to put a board at the bottom to hold axes, use something thick because the axes will hit it...a lot. I used a 1x4 and it broke the first day I used it. A 2x6 might work well.
    3. I make these to sell so I paid a local guy with a CNC $40 to cut out the target dimensions so I could spray them quicker. Took me an hour just to measure out and paint the target the first time I made one. Now I can do it in about a minute.
After having done a few, I can make one of these in under 2 hours. Cost is $70 and I sell them for $150 with free delivery. Total labor time with delivery and picking up materials ends up being about 4 hours.

I used your video to build an axe throwing station today. Your instructions and build list were very good. It took around 5 hours for a rookie to build. This will depend on the equipment one has to cut and drill the wood. My only criticism is that the optional support you listed should not be optional to ensure stability. Beyond that, I couldn’t have built it without your video. Great job.

Just built this. So simple. Amazing video, and straight forward. Did you mention the diameter of the clutches anywhere? I had to google it. Unfortunately I live in the woods so mine stays outside. Gives me a reason to build a little shelter/canopy over this and the archery targets. Wish I could add wheels since it’s stupid heavy, but outside of adding bicycle wheels, I’m limited to what rolls easily in the woods. Again, great video.

We wanna built an axetrowing target as well but is it important what kind of wood you use for the target

      I used pine for mine

Hey I used southern yellow pine for my target and I can’t get my axes to stick. Is that the kind of pine you used?

Built a second one yesterday with help from your video. I didn't have the proper material for either of them but they both turned out beautiful. Awesome video. Clutch diameter would be a nice addition to the video description though.

Thanks for the suggestion. I added the clutch diameter to the description, hopefully viewers will look there for more info

Hi there! Great video! I worked for an axe throwing place in the twin cities and since then I have wanted to make my own target. When you replace your boards do you have to replace the plywood too? Could you let me know your process of how replacing boards go? Thanks again and awesome job!!!!

    • @ArtfullyRogue
      @ArtfullyRogue  ปีที่แล้ว

Sorry for the delayed response. Replacing the boards is quick. Simply unscrew from the behind the plywood, drop in a new board and screw it back together. The plywood rarely gets touched by the axe and using the same holes to replace the vertical boards keeps the plywood good as new.

Hey, I enjoyed this more than I thought. Just got some throwing Hawk sogs coming. Good reviews, kind of small. Wondered about making a Target, instead of trying to get disc from a tree. Kind of big, I make 1 with one less board. Again, pretty funny enjoyable

This was excellent, we threw our first axes yesterday and looking to make one at home to practice. Descriptions clear and concise with easy instructions. The added drama and music of the throws was an unexpected treat! What technique did you use for painting the bullseye. Thanks o much

Glad it was helpful! I put a nail in the center and tied string there and to a pencil and set the string distance where needed for the each part of the target
