Real shame LEGO doesn't focus as much on trains as they used to. Every few years it is a new freight train and passenger train, but they no longer sell extra cars and even track is hard to find (if you don't want any of that flex track garbage).
I think they don't even sell a station anymore. :/ That wouldn't be a big of an issue if the train set had a decent platform, like the 7740, 7745 and 4558, but todays platforms are the size of an europallet. The lack of doors in trains also bothers me.
I like flex-track! It helps me make a tight fit work on my layout and helps make wide sweeping curves for a really neat track! Flex-track is awesome to me!
Jack the railfan I agree it has it's uses, like IMO it looks great on bridges. My issue is more that they sell regular straights in packs with flex track. What if I just want strights? Heck, what if I am making a long bridge and _want_ 200 pieces of flex track? In ether case, I am forced to buy a bunch of track I don't want. Same can be said of their roads actually, they sell them in packs of two, but with either a straight and a curve or a cross and a t.
scottthewaterwarrior Oh. I haven't gotten any new track lately. I am starting to build things for a lego train layout though so I might get more track if I need it (I probably will)!
I really wish Lego would do trains like they did in the 1980s and 90s, and they could even re-use some of the designs! I was also expecting them to release more than one train set in 2016, for the lego trains 50th anniversary! I noticed you forgot the trains stations and the Hogwarts Express!
Same! I loved all the accessories you could get for them. Guess it was simpler for them when they only had a couple of lines and not the 20 odd they have now. Hopefully the golden age will return soon!
Totally agree, but LEGO wasn't around then. I do love steam trains. Need to add some to my city. I always loved the workshop scene in the 7777 book. One of my goals is to recreate that in my city!
Thanx for showing some well-earned respect for the historic LEGO trains! As a kid of the early 80s I'm of course abit biased as to how LEGO should be. Modern sets contain far too many ELEMENTS and too few usable BRICKS - sad...
never knew that the old set before me (1986) were actual Deutsche Bahn trains , after 1986 all trains converted to fictional trains. ( with the exeptions of some special sets )
There are some though, that were more or less based on real trains. The 4551 crocodile engine for example, it looks quite similar to the DRG E94 or ÖBB 1020 (the latter was red as well. In fact, I think this set was called "Austrian Federal Railways" in the UK). It more closely resembles a real prototype than some of the 12V stuff. The legendary 7750 is an engine with a seperate tender, but the engine itself looks like a tank engine. :/
I grew up with the trains with the electrical rails from the 1990's-2000's and the big black controller with the yellow dial. I miss those days, now they are all powered by the battery powered remote.
Lego briefly re-released older sets under a new name... I forget what it was called. Classics? Legends? Point is, they re-released several things. Some old knights sets, pirate ship, and... The metroliner and all it's associated sets. (the club car, and railway station.) The train was the same but with new minifigs. The railway station was re-released with new minifigs, and there was a version in red, instead of the original yellow.
i had the 1996 cargo railway and the 1996 freight and crane railway i got them 2 different Christmases i knew they where expensive so they had to be Christmas gifts, looking back now i wish i never took them apart eventually but, i did put them together completely by myself when i was 7 or 8 so i felt pretty accomplished at that age haha alot of fun with my other sets i had. i could never resist borrowing parts to make new stuff though. watching cartoons and playing legos was my life! talk about the good ol days, wish i could have some of that imagination back.
The 1966 Lego trains were soooooo childish with blue and white tracks and childish small wagons. But these new Lego trains are soooooooo cool even for an adult....
@A true petrol-head Huh???? I was a child in the 60s. I dont hate children fool. I was one myself. But as a child I hated these childish blue/white tracks and childish trains and wagons..........
Just beautiful! I love trains, especially LEGO ones! Have very fond memories of my first one. The 7720! Got many happy hours out of that and still have it. Whether it works is a different question... Very thorough share! Thank you. Made me very happy!
My mommy collected LEGO trains in the 90's when I found out she lost one of her Minifigures and I saw it when I found it, and when she quitted the LEGO Sets, I started the 2007 to 2009 sets when I was a child, and I was in preschool, I started the trains since Easter 2014 and I got the 2010 Passenger Train and on my Birthday in 2015 I got the 2014 High Speed Passenger Train sets, but I got the rechargeable batteries for my trains and other sets and it worked good to speed my trains up 🤓🤓🤓
Grate Video(with little gaps :)! Where is the Emerald Night my favorit lego train? I feel sad when I look at the trains from 2018, sry lego but they are ugly. And what's wrong with the old Power Function System? A soundupgrade for the Sbrick-App would work as well. A new version of the Hobby train set would be nice, you could made so much more!
Do you have Facebook? Watch the photos and movies from Varda Furrer if you like Swiss trains ;-) facebook.com/people/Varda-Elent%C3%A1ri-Furrer/100010803017744

I’ve been collecting Lego train sets for 40+ years now since the 1970’s. And it’s always exiting to see what’s next.
Thanx for showing some well-earned respect for the historic LEGO trains! As a kid of the early 80s I'm of course abit biased as to how LEGO should be. Modern sets contain far too many ELEMENTS and too few usable BRICKS - sad...

memories passing in front of my eyes...of me, on the 25th december, opening them bags full of bricks. i used to be the happiest kid in the world :')
My childhood was a bliss with these toys in the 1990s.i wish they concentrated more on the cars and trains as well currently
Totally Agree with you. I hope they make more trains like The Emerald Night.
You watched an old version of the movie. If you like you can see an updated version here: th-cam.com/video/fHlgf_wfyPY/w-d-xo.html
I still have the 724 set that i got from Sinterklaas just before turning 5. It ran probably millions of loops during my childhood years.
I miss my 7710 1980 ill never forget that set. Got it for Christmas
I grew up with the trains with the electrical rails from the 1990's-2000's and the big black controller with the yellow dial. I miss those days, now they are all powered by the battery powered remote.
Yes, me 2. The 9 volt era..... love them. The ran the whole day!
You skipped a ton, such as emerald night and the Hogwarts express, and also you showed the Metroliner twice
For the emerald Night i made an update video on my channel and Harry Potter i missed. Sorry. The Metroliner has two different set numbers.
Lego briefly re-released older sets under a new name... I forget what it was called. Classics? Legends?

Owen Meschter yeah the reason I wanted to see this was emerald night but not there :(
Sorry, i've made an update version with the Emerald Night.
@@StartBricking set 725 is also missing

Good video 😀
Ha ! 171 was my first set in 1975 and in 2003 I bought 4512 for my son as his first train.
Классное видео!🤩👍 лайк от друзей!
Great video! Thanks! Some skips though - that blue 9v passenger (90s), emerald night, hogwarts, stations, railroad crossings.
Yandrell Pascua Gargantilla thanks👊🏻. Last week i Made a new video with all missing trains. See my channel.
Cool stuff!
Cool video. Thanks for sharing. It would be nice to see the train stations.👍😀
Nice compilation
I kinda wish lego did something like the my own train again.
Load n haul set I was 7 and loved this so bits
2006 was the best set in terms of value - and possibly looks.
I Agree!
Lego really should make British trains like the class 43 don't you agree?
AWESOME! :-D
4561 - the blue high speed train from the 9V era - is missing!
here is a more complete video: th-cam.com/video/-vDMk9K6uBU/w-d-xo.html
A lot of trains !
I LIKE TRAINS
The 65801... good old memorys :)
Love this
LEGO Trains were best in the 80's. 1991 started their slow decay...
I like the vintage trains more than the new
like 😀
The 1966 Lego trains were soooooo childish with blue and white tracks and childish small wagons. But these new Lego trains are soooooooo cool even for an adult....

Wow. My favourite Lego train was 7898 cargo train deluxe.

COOL!!!
Just beautiful! I love trains, especially LEGO ones! Have very fond memories of my first one. The 7720! Got many happy hours out of that and still have it. Whether it works is a different question... Very thorough share! Thank you. Made me very happy!
They forgot about the Hogwarts express
Yes, correct. I made an updated version on my channel.
The 80's and 90's sets are the winners :)
My mommy collected LEGO trains in the 90's when I found out she lost one of her Minifigures and I saw it when I found it, and when she quitted the LEGO Sets, I started the 2007 to 2009 sets when I was a child, and I was in preschool, I started the trains since Easter 2014 and I got the 2010 Passenger Train and on my Birthday in 2015 I got the 2014 High Speed Passenger Train sets, but I got the rechargeable batteries for my trains and other sets and it worked good to speed my trains up 🤓🤓🤓
wow.... cool collection do you have ;-). Enjoy it!
Growing up as a kid I think the ones from the 90s up to a certain point in the mid or late 2000s were the better looking ones.
I changed it from 4.1k likes to 4.2k likes! I’m so happy for you!
Nais video
I actually had the Santa Fe Supercheif
Me too..... HAD :-( it was so cool... wish i did not sold it
This looks a bit like the real train evolution!
Great video!!!
You forgot the 323 Trackless Train
Not annymore....here is a more complete video: th-cam.com/video/-vDMk9K6uBU/w-d-xo.html Hope you like it!
Great video, but some major sets are missing like 4555 cargo station from 1995.
Old Lego sets look like some I will make randomly
2018 had 2 good one's
6:36 i still have that train...
Where is Hogwarts Express???
Hm Studios I think he only included non licensed trains
He did toy story train
Thats odd
Maybe he hates lego harry potter?
How DARE he!! 😡😡😡
Well, in my country, we sell Lego train track at every Toys 'R' Us but rarely sell Lego train set
I remember an orange train like the french TGV.., I was a child so i think it’s near 1992 circa
There was a rather large green steam locomotive from around 2008, did not see it here. Otherwise great!
this video is to long but it is good I give it this👍👍👍👌👌👌👌
Why did you not include the hogwarts express
LeguTruckReviews 601 was a misstake. I Made an updated version on my channel
So they even changed the controller now...
here is a new video: th-cam.com/video/-vDMk9K6uBU/w-d-xo.html Hope you like it!

Grate Video(with little gaps :)! Where is the Emerald Night my favorit lego train? I feel sad when I look at the trains from 2018, sry lego but they are ugly. Steam locomotives in 1980?
Cool!
Thanks.... i made a more complete video..... hope you like it: th-cam.com/video/-vDMk9K6uBU/w-d-xo.html
Metroliner and Sante Fee are the best trains!
lmao i remember stealing 10020 in kindergarten block for block, and at the end of the year i had the entire train at home XD
No space trains? 1994 monorail? Hogwarts Express? Emerald Night? I take that as a sign of disrespect.
2:43 anyone from SuperMarioLogan Recognize this song from Doofy the Dragon?
all of them are awesome!
EXCEPT THIS ONE 6:03

There are also a couple Harry Potter train sets.
I'm sorry, here is a more complete video: th-cam.com/video/-vDMk9K6uBU/w-d-xo.html
Why did Lego even release a 9V train motor for unpowered track? Why not just get the Power Functions train motor out the door?
You've missed at least a dozen Sets including the trackless one from 1965. There were 4 Hogwarts Train Sets and now with a 5th about to come out.
Do the 1s with remotes actually run with the remote?
Look out for the train
You're forgot the Lego System Railway Express 4561
Cooool
Thanks, i made a more complete version.... hope you like it. th-cam.com/video/-vDMk9K6uBU/w-d-xo.html
