I heard this song five days after my mothers passing this year. Every word and note not only helped me through such a difficult grieving process but showed me the beauty of life and death.
My favorite song on their new CD. Not sure if that's a banjo or what kind of string that is at 0:54 , but it sounds amazing. It reminds me of Donkey Kong Country 1 & 2. Pure bliss.
Finally, 3 songs in and this is the first time I'm hearing acoustic drums. I know this is just an EP, so my hope is that they won't keep going in this direction. Circa Survive is one of my all time favorite bands, and I don't expect them to always sound the same as "the old stuff". I've seen their growth since Juturna and it's been amazing and progressive, but this direction just doesn't seem like the most inspired one particularly. I think they're holding back.
The new Circa is Circa trying to be Radiohead; sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Still a million times better than the Amulet. If the Amulet was them being burnt out on that sound, I embrace the new direction. What I love is that while it is different, it is thoughtful in its complexity. A few listens in and it will grow on me.
@@assimo9841 I’ve been loving the new EP more everyday since it came out, and thinking about your comment. It made me realize Circa is the only band that’s ever given me that reaction… it’s like they have a way of crafting music in a manner similar to a puzzle. It challenges you, and you feel dumb, like “I don’t get it!” and you reject it… but there is something intriguing about it and you come back again and again until you DO understand it. Then you tell your friends, “check out this puzzle-trust me, if you don’t like it at first, you will!” Any way, I just thought I’d share that, and I wonder if there are other bands that challenge the listener in the same rewarding way that Circa does. You just have to solve the puzzle.
@@mickwritesmaui yeah dude, I'm all-in on it, now. I've been running through it at least once a day for the past week or so, and I love all the songs now. Oddly enough, I still can't get around to enjoying most of Violent Waves, haha.
@@assimo9841 that’s how I feel about the Amulet. Violent waves, with bangers like “the lottery”, “birth of the economic hit men”, “blood from a stone” and that sick closing track is an album with great moments, in my opinion. Songs like “brother song “ do give it filler, though, so I get it. Are you a runner? It’s a good running companion, that album.

NEW CIRCA SURVIVE I’VE NEVER BEEN THIS EARLY TO THEIR NEW MUSIC I’M DIGGING THIS STRANGE VIBE LET’S GOOOOO
My first reaction was “whattt is this sound?” It works so beautifully though, such a good vibe
This new circa is so fucking good man
This song breaks my heart, yet it’s so beautiful
I think this is about that one person you will stick it out with no matter what through whatever.
That riff that comes in at 1:40 is elite!
My favorite of the 3pack✌️
I can honestly say one of my favorite circa songs, so good ❤

Anybody have any recommendations for songs with a similar feel / mood?

I think that this will become part of the upcoming album called "two dreams" in march 4th
Completely disagree. They've never been better
The best I've heard from Circa Survive ❤️ This is love ❤️
I mean okay
Anthony really sounds like Donny from Hail the sun / Sianvar / Nova charisma here.
It'd have to be the other way around. But yeah. They've toured together, so it's not lost on anyone.

I didn't like any of this when it dropped a few days ago, and it's grown on me so hard.
Same. Especially Buzzhenge.
