The Bee is still the worst one. You need a animal + honey + pill. While zombie cricket is cricket + pill which is much easier. Also to add You can level 3 a cricket before you pill and you get a level 3 zombie cricket. Much easier than level 3 Bee. So Bee still takes the cake as worst.
Sloth is the worst actually it’s the rarest pet in the game and it’s a 1/1 with no ability’s and it won’t count towards the dog and also because it’s so rare it’s almost impossible to level up

There were multiple times you could've bought a cricket, put a mushroom on it, and then pilled it. You didn't really need the swan or the monkey towards the end you could've sold them to do it
he could have pilled the level 2 zombie cricket with the mushroom and an empty slot in his team and gotten 2 lvl 2 zombie crickets and combined them then boom lvl 3 zombie cricket

I think the pill is used if you have an animal that gets stats when another one dies, so instead of selling an animal you use a pill, and one of your animals gets extra life and power
The pill can be used to give a permanent buff to a pet if another one faint, for example in the first couple of turns, you can pill an ant after having it for one turn which will give whatever pet the buff lands on a permanent +2 damage and +1 health, it's also cheaper to do this than to buy an apple, and it more effective. What I like to do a lot is if I get an ox I will pill an ant or flamingo and this give the ox the buff of either, as well as the ox doing it's ability to give it melon armour and +2 attack, which would mean you're getting a permanent twice as good as an apple for 1/3 of the price. Also if you get an early turtle you can pill it to get a permanent melon armour on a pet you plan to keep for a while. It massively helps early game to secure wins so you don't have to scale as ridiculously late game and you're more able to adapt to what pets the game gives you later on. Also if you can try to level up pets on odd round when you unlock new tiers of pets, getting an early hippo on round 5 can secure you so many wins, or getting an early bison is at least a few easy wins
