  • This is a tutorial on how to crochet a teenage mutant ninja turtle! This tutorial is not meant to be a crochet along.
All body parts are done in continuous rounds unless stated. I finish all pieces with a slst and ch1. Stitches I use in this are the magic circle, sc, slst, chain, inc, dec, sc in BLO.
The plastic eyes that I use:
    www.hobbylobby....
    Written Pattern:
    Head-
Round 1: 6 sc in magic circle (6)
    Round 2: inc around (12)
    Round 3: sc, inc (18)
Round 4: 2sc, inc (24), change to mask color
    Round 5 - 6: sc around x 2 (24), change back to green
    Round 7 - 8: sc around x 2 (24)
    Round 9: 2sc, dec (18)
    Round 10: sc, dec (12)
    Round 11: dec (6)
12mm eyes 6 rows down, 6 spaces apart
    Body-
Round 1: 6 sc in magic circle (6)
    Round 2: inc around (12)
    Round 3: inc, sc (18)
    Round 4-10: sc around (18)
    Round 11: sc, dec (12)
    Round 12: dec (6)
    Arms-
Round 1: 7 sc in magic circle (7)
    Round 2-7: sc around x 6 (7)
    Legs-
Round 1: 8 sc in magic circle (8)
    Round 2-5: sc around (8)
    Mask Ties-
Row 1: 1 sc in magic circle, chain 1, turn
Row 2: 3 sc in the same stitch, chain 1, turn
Row 3: sc across (3), chain 1, turn
    Row 4: 3dec together, chain 2
Row 5: 3 sc in the second from the hook, chain 1, turn
    Row 6-7: (sc across (3), chain 1, turn) x 2
    Row 8: 3dec together, chain 1, turn
Row 9: slst, chain 1, break yarn
    Belly Patch-
Row 1: 3 sc in magic circle, chain 1, turn
Row 2-3: (sc across, chain 1, turn) x2
Row 4: inc, sc, inc (5), chain 1, turn
Row 5: sc, hdc and sc, slst, sc and hdc, sc and slst
    Belt-
Make a chain long enough to tightly wrap around the body after the belly patch is sewn on. It was 18 for me but depends on how tightly you crochet and how much you stuff the body! Sew this on before the shell!
    Shell-
Round 1: 6 sc in magic circle (6)
    Round 2: 2 inc, sc (10)
    Round 3: sc, 2 inc, 3 sc, 2 inc, 2 sc (14)
Round 4: sc around but inc on top, bottom and both sides (18)
    Round 5: sc around (18)
Round 6: in back loop only (BLO) 2 sc, inc (24)

Thank you so much. It was a fast and easy pattern. Bless you for sharing. Cause I get bored with slow ones. And you kept me busy. I'm making them too donate at Christmas time. And for a friend.

Aww wow! Cowabunga dude!! I can't wait to make this! I gotta though. Something tells me he won't look right in purple oatmeal and teel. Lol But seriously, good for you making it through the mental stuff! ✌🏾 I fight depression with meds, amazing friends, good books and piles of yarn. My thoughts and well wishes go with you for a speedy and peaceful post surgery recovery.

There is nothing wrong with a purple, teal, and oatmeal ninja turtle! 😂 Thank you! I've had a VERY long mental health journey. In fact, I'm still on it hahaha but I'm doing a lot better! Mental health issues are truly horrible and I hope you are doing okay as well! Thank you!

Acacia Copley you really think he'll turn out? Well then! I'm so there. Thanks!🥰 I'm doing great right now, so Yaye that!🥳 fun fact... I like to make the limbs and any other small pieces first, then go through both loops and add them as the head and body take shape. It hides my stitches and, I swear, makes them survive better when they have to go through the washing machine.

@@adrianbaker1411 Awesome! Interesting technique but if it works, it works! I love alternatively colored animals/characters. One of my favorite pieces I've made was an orange and navy blue giraffe!

I know you did the Eeyore tutorial a long time ago, but I was wondering if you could do a tutorial on a Heffalump. Also, I'm so glad you have the name of all the yarns and this was so well done. This was so well filmed and specific. I'm kind of new so this was very helpful. Keep it up and I hope you can still have your surgery and that you recover well if you can. 👍🤗

I get asked about Winnie the Pooh characters a lot and will have to put it on the list! The next video will actually be for Piglet. Thank you so much! I tried very hard to make this video better than the previous ones. I can still improve on video quality among other things but I think I did okay at descriptions! I'll find out on Monday about the surgery but I'm not keeping my hopes up. I'll live, though!
