Might be the product or the length of your hair fr. I got 4c hair and curling it is pretty tough. But now that I got like 6-8 inches of hair on the top of my head it's feels much easier. Coils were never a problem form me besides the shrinkage. I will say, in your profile pic you look light skin so you might have a looser hair texture that's doesn't coil as easily. Try looking for TH-camrs with your hair type and do what they do, and use the products the use. You could also try getting it done professionally to see how they make it work with your hair then you can do it on your own later.
