In answer to your question, yes, I struggle with breath control when singing. Some tutors say we're supposed to keep our ribs expanded all the time, even on the exhale, but if I do that, there's no place for the air to go when I try inhaling again; also, it's hard work keeping the ribs out all the time. It's like keeping your arms up in the air without relaxing them. Other tutors say you're supposed to relax your ribs between each breath. Maybe it's different for everyone. I suspect that if we ever master breath control, we're 50% of the way to being better singers. Any tips greatly appreciated :-)
I sometimes don't find the right moment to breathe. Especially in faster songs. So I go long passages without breathing which leads to me running out of air 😂
Hello Freya, you are realy a good caoch. I am enjoying and learning through your educational videos. I am struggling with applying breathing technics on my singing.. Nomandla from South Africa
I like this lesson. I tend to struggle a bit, and kinda running out of breath at times. Other times, I can't seem to keep the breath going, because , somehow, I stop mid-way through, even when holding long notes.
Freya has a great soprano series, search Freya Casey soprano.. the series I refer to are a bit older, I think there maybe a few newer ones also. One that I return to often is called something like “ how to open up your voice”
th-cam.com/video/E2rXYL5HK-c/w-d-xo.html This is the one I like, but the others in this series are really good. I must explore what I haven’t seen yet!
OK video, but very unclear. When singing more "dense" - does this mean push out more air? Everybody talks about balanced singing - and I was hoping to find the answer here. I'm still confused what that means. :(

Hello Freya! Could you maybe make a video about head voice for opera (soprano) singers and how to avoid voice cracks?

can you show how to calm heavy mouth breathing down after intense pop singers concert?
what about breathing out in on mic mouth
11:11 why breathing out in on soft song?

why do female pop singers mouth breathe out on mic move away from mic to breathe out in through mouth but instead bring mouth back breathe in on mic?
