Старший брат бабушки там был. Курсант подольский. Войну закончил в Прибалтике. За брата погибшего там в июле 41 отомстил , а потом японию воспитывал.

My grandpa from my dad's side was a captain in a Assault engineering brigade,he survived with no real injuries but he did defend Moscow.
My grandpa from my mom's side was a lieutenant in a rifle division and he was also at Moscow they're both still with us thankfully.
They're my heroes and i look to walk in they're footsteps by signing up for the Russian Army or Tank core.

I have many problems with the Soviet Union/Russia and how they conducted/conduct themselves. However this is the one occassion where I can't help but be team Russia. This was a heroic stand by any metric. Thank you Russians for being a driving force behind defeating Nazi Germany from the United States!

IS-2s first saw combat on ukraine after Kursk, so the movie might'vev needed a KV-1 (a T-34 would've been more accurate as most KVs ended up bottled up in Leningrad now Saint Petersburg) but since they lacked a working KV-1 for whatever reason they used the IS with a KV turret as a stand-in

@Lone wolf There are a couple thing wrong woth your statement. The recapture of Narvik was the first major German defeat, and that was while the USSR and Germany were still allies.
And secondly at the beginning of the Battle of Moscow the US was not involved in the war.
In place though of direct military involvement it effectively supplied the American, British, Canadian, Austrian, Free French, Soviet, and Chinese militaries with critical war supplies. Even by April of 1942 the essential war supplies.
I would also not call the German army the most powerful, mainly because that doesn't really mean anything.

@@Ytver Ну так, я дал ответ на твой комментарий, про то, что нацизм не может быть окончательно побеждён, а если нацизм разумный, то побеждать его не нужно. Победа была не над фашизмом и нацизмом, а над Германией, которая имела такие режимы правления.Она могла иметь режим правления "Демократия", но всё равно вторгнуться в нашу страну.

Моя семья можно сказать была сильно вовлечена в те события. Мы жили в Московской области и хоть наш город не был по итогу захвачен, но немцы были очень близко и все готовились защищаться.
Бабушка в свои 14 лет помогала готовить еду для солдат зенитной батареи и однажды вместе с подругой совершили подвиг, когда смогли сбросить не разорвавшуюся бомбу с железнодорожного моста.
Ее 17-ти летний брат по 12 часов в день работал на военном заводе, производя боеприпасы для минометов.
Прабабушка рыла траншеи. Ее муж и сын уже воевали в Севастополе, где оба погибнут в феврале 1942 года.
Дедушка по отцовской линии не смотря на то, что имел бронь и был с высшим образованием, пошел на фронт добровольцем и прошел всю войну, будучи командиром танка т-34.
