Developers are taking that into consideration for next events I think it can be easily solved by raising the limit of action points from 12 to... say, 200? You log in once a day, walk through the whole map, beat opponents that you can beat, collect chests if they are available, get into some settlement, and leave The next time you log in, you may have been kicked out of the settlement, but at least you have 200 action points to go change the course of history (not mere 12)

I love playing CoW and I despise AoC I already hated the Asgard thing, now they take away the thing I enjoyed the most to replace it with the thing I hate the most? nah, I'm gone
I'm skeptical for any update that makes you spend more time logged in. The more time you need to stay in-game, the less of a hobby the game becomes and more like work, taking the fun out of it. While my guild has done well in AoC so far, and we do have dedicated members, its easier to do that when it is a rare occurence, and not a week in, week out activity. Personally I'm also more titan focused, and losing a game mode for titans is a bit sad for me. I enjoy titan battles vs actual players, dungeon just isn't the same...
Unrelated to AoC, they must update the GW interface to match the CoW one. They invested a lot in CoW GUI with features that were lacking - available chat inside the war screen, all members can see the assignments (and therefore not hitting targets clearly designated for others), available Log for every building without the need to exit the war screen... It should be super easy to plug CoW features into GW (saying as a software eng., assuming they designed it good enough), and I can't believe that about 1.5 years after CoW was introduced it wasn't done yet.
Now you'll have to buy health pots and speed boosts for CoW if it's going to be AoC. It's a money grab. They probably saw that some people spent $100+ on health and speed pots. When people stop spending money on titans, they'll just add mines or something like that to the map to hold, and you'll make a titan team to go fight for the mines.
I think you are on to something - the current CoW is free, no need to spend on it, but with this mode they try to get the guilds to spend on the better chance for victory ... not only spend on building your team but on the battle mode itself.
I won't spend another damn dime on the game, when I finally use up the emeralds I've got, I'm gone I hate AoC and enjoy CoW when they take away the fun part of the game, it's time to leave
@@Galdenistal Then why not show us what it's actually going to be before making it permanent? Seems dumb to announce they're making it permanent but it's going to be different than the AoC that just ended.
If AoC is here to stay, then Nexters had better fix the loop holes where you can cheat the system. We were facing a guild with almost twice our total power. You can guess how much fun that was...
Sometimes I feel they are making the game for unemployed people, when they need them to be employed so they can pay for upgrades. I don't believe employers are gonna understand the cause when people stops every hour to have heroes kill each other
I feel the area of conquest will die a dead fairly quickly as members of teams will just stop playing as they don't want to go on several times a day and will get bored. I personally go on twice a day and will not go on anymore than that.
Gonna hurt my guild. I could assign targets in CoW, drawing in less active players. Usually had 3-5 who didn't participate in CoW. With A0C, I'd say closer to half don't participate. Plus, in CoW, there were more target options for weaker teams. It's rare to see an AoC team under 900k power. Plus, I LIKE the titans!!!
It sucks, people chose to play this game because they only have to log on a few times a day, not every hour. AOC seems to have more rooms for cheating, cannot confirm as I've never attempted cheating. Weaker players could still participate in COW, in AOC, they probably just give opponents free energy. It follows that people will probably get blamed by their guild mates more in AOC. Reward disparity is larger in AOC, strong guilds seem to just go around FARMING weaker guilds. Would have been much better to just make COW available for everyone. But from a business stand point, they do want to have P2W players giving an absolute beat down on F2P players to make them pay or quit.
This last event of AOC, one guild team had no fighting chance. Only a hand full were active and they got demolished. I felt bad. Taking away COW is just plain stupid. Our Titan leader made a 2nd team just for COW. If they remove it and not add it to AOC some way that was a waste of time and money he put into leveling up his titans.
@@HeroWarsCentral Wait how are people cheating? I hypothesized a sort of collusion method that was better points than everything except holding center, but outright cheating?
its a very very bad idea. CoW to me is very interesting. I meet new teams and can see what is popular in other servers - and also what works and works not. AoC is nice and creates teambuilding, but lasts way too long and is way too timeconsuming. Next important argument: ppl with lower rating have nothing to look out for in AoC. they just get kicked out by the high power teams. Two times per year and AoC is nice. But now i have to play this timeconsuming event every day?? already ppl in my guild are talking about quitting because time is such an important issue.
My main concern is that this new mode will be (based on what we have seen for AoC) CoW in AoC format. Which means that they will add the moving mechanic to have CoW type battles and ultimately increase the tedium for CoW. So instead of making CoW game mode more fun, they are gonna make it more tedious. Instead of a carrot they gave us the stick.
Our guild's experience with AoC is the first one we got off to a slow start due to not logging in right away and we were so far behind half way through the first day that it was a waste of a week. The second one we were there and ready to go and were facing 2 guilds that had 2 people participating (no idea if it was lack of active members or lack of caring about AoC) and we just sat in the center with 5 or 6 of the 6 8-pointers and more than half the 8 4-pointers. By the end of the week we had more than double the score of 2nd place and it was again a waste of a week. I went out of my way running all the way around the map (literally to all 4 castles, ours to heal) looking for opponents almost daily and barely reached 30 fights for the whole week. Considering how little energy there is to move that took a lot of time for so little action. I will do my best on AoC going forward for the rewards and try to motivate my guild (not convinced that will be easy given their feelings on the mode), but I expect this change to be a failure from our perspective.
The easiest twist to change Area of Conquest is to have cities for heroes and forts for titans. You put two teams on the board at the same time with heroes fighting heroes and titans fighting titans.
Round 2 of AoC was the about the same as Round 1 of AoC for four of my accounts. Nobody attacked anybody. They just picked a settlement and sat. I only checked into that game mode repeatedly on the first day to see of my planned moves went thru - they didn't. I made a suggestion in their first survey that the map needs to be visible for all the players so we're not wasting moves. They've mentioned plans of incorporating the blue guild war trophies, so hopefully - though I'm dreaming - they'll take this opportunity to merge all guild war trophies into a single currency. Do away with the level upgrade rewards and have an actual shop where players can purchase items they need/want. As an added bonus, have a trade/sell option in said shop.
You never ever face pre-charged teams in Arena, and the pre charge F*CKS UP the whole strategic planning concept!! FCK AoC BIG TIME!! Not to mention the huge time sink that it is, really clueless about how they want to make it less time consuming? Also, the bonuses for buildings on CoW made it interesting, let some heroes shine like never before, like Corvus! While he gets screwed by all the precharged battles, not using his altar half of the time! So yeah, really very unhappy about this announced change!!
Yeah I hate this as I hate area of conquest as it is way more time consuming than clash of worlds. Wasn't all that crazy about clash of worlds but I found it tolerable, especially with the improvements they made there that I wish they would port over to guild wars.
I would not be surprised if they backflip on this decision. AoC is fun to play as a special event, but a permanent mode? no thanks. Who has the time to sit on here all day? Plus those who spent $$$ on titans are now pissed (don't blame them). I agree with the comment below about it being a blatant money grab unfortunately. Par for the course with Nexters...
As the losing guild in the last AOC, I hope they match up the 4 guilds better than they did in the last one. AOC was fun for a once or twice a year event, but it'll get grindy real quick if it's weekly.
You can pick your team according to your opponent in Arena mode. In AoC, you spend your moves to reach an opponent and find out you picked the wrong heroes from your roster when you left the home base.
yeah that is rely on your buddies who already got their ass kicked before you and were send home, I think they should reveal the team comp, and those in castle could wipe it with a counter, but then also that introduces problem as the only place to change team is castle, so at least those who are in it atm can rush and stop attackers. Maybe heal in town over time would be option. but IDK if that mode can be made into something playable, this is to degree idle game not RTS they are trying to make, in that case there are better offerings on Steam.
Twist two for area of conquest. Each day you have a reset. So as you play in area of conquest, once your hero dies, you can't use him again until the daily reset.
Twist three for area of conquest. Just as in CoW you need levels. Instead of matching against teams of the same power, you work your way up the ranks. The stronger teams get better rewards than the weaker teams (equality not equity) and over time the teams find their sweet spot within levels.
Is it cumulative power for matching Area of Conquest guilds? My current guild had about the same total power as the other three on our map, but every other individual team I saw could squash me like a fly.
Another reason for replacing CoW with AoC is the mini-seasons and packages they sell alongside AoC. No potential revenue generator like that exists for CoW.
no clash means all the effort i put into juggling two Titan teams for Grand Titan Arena was pointless also im overdue for a tip so: Storm Event:: this is why you keep Axle at a competitive level (80 no later than anyone else) number two you will run Martha, Thea, Nebula, Yas - and depending on where your account is at Lara, Jhu, or Isaac Lara and Martha can duo the last boss. you don't want to hit every node, you want to go around the circle in as few moves as possible only spending extra moves for out of the way chests - the boss should take two attempts sorry this was late, good hunting gentlemen 🏹
Ya know, much as I was neutral to COW since I never got access to it cause I was stuck on entry-level league, I'll agree that ditching COW and replacing it with a far too relaxed yet time-demanding game mode is a bit extreme. It would've been better to let entry-level guilds access COW and not have it locked away behind having to be in Silver and Gold, while also paradoxingly still keeping the Platinum Blue trophies. Granted they said they're gonna give AOC a lot of revamps since I otherwise still breezed through cause I only faced like two inactive guilds and one guild that had one or two other guys active and plowed no problem cause my best team are basically monsters. Easiest second sword flag pattern I got, got me a red one now.
do u think we will still be able to buy those avatar frames in the cow shop? now i wish i would have purchased some of them instead of yellow dominion gifts if they are no longer available
What I enjoy in this game is collecting stuff (Heroes/titans/pets/totems/flags) and then use them in some event. Thats the reason why I spend mony/time on this game. But in AoC I usede 6 heroes 1 flag, 0 titans but was forsed to log in costantly to achive a result. After a week of playing I wos sleepleess, angry and not sutisfied.
maybe they bring a titan team to conquest map where they can only attack other titans and capture new locations that hero teams can't attack. i'd like the map to go 8 sided with that many guilds on it.
They need a way to field titans into the game and make them interact with heros. Like single or team of titans controls a building can be disputed by enemy titans directly but heros must surround it on three to six sides for auto elimination.
IMO it's just Nexters dropping a game mode with limited P2W angle and replacing it with yet another P2W-heavy game mode. Even if I thought the AoC golden ticket rewards were good (which I don't) I won't be buying yet another ticket. They just added Silver Season on top of every regular season. I don't think I'll be buying those either. And I guess it doesn't really matter what the replacement for CoW trophies will be since titans no longer matter. People with maxed totems will win in GW, and nobody else will ever be able to max their totems without spending tons of real-world money. It's a no for me dawg.
Honestly, not much revenue to be had for Nexters by people spending more time in the web version. They don't run web adds and the like on the website, so there is no revenue just from having people on the website.
The worst part of AoC and losing CoW is it will make it so "whaling" again is the main reason for being in the higher leagues. CoW allowed those of us F2P to have a usefulness in higher leagues. With the right strategy, we could win Titan and hero fights. Now, it'll be metas dominating in AoC, unless major changes occur. Also, until they add titans to AoC, all of the lower level players in good guilds will have no use for them anymore if not in Guild Wars. Think this decision is awful
Considering how way off they were at paring equal strength guilds in CoW, I don't think the 4 guilds in AoC will be evenly matched. There is no way the weaker guilds will be able to compete and get equal rewards for being active or not.
It's not the same for us. We got in such an unfair match that it frustrated everyone, as we were constantly beaten and sent to home base. Also, there seems to be only one meta team, Dante-centered, whereas in CoW, you go bonuses based on hero teams in bases. I have been twice through it and did not enjoy it a bit in its current state, so whales get nice rewards in patterns to be even more potent, and those more causal get the shaft.
@@YogiEmoji-e1m it is a bit bigger Guild War with some twist and cross server, and available only to silver and gold clans, not sure if you had AoC event that replaces it. Apparently that is what majority wants but I have mixed feeling and it its current offering AoC is unfair trash. We just had no contest with opponents and we are mid tier silver on our server Storm Fronteer. With CoW we were able to hit Duke league if that means anything to you anyway if never played it, but our guild kind of rotted over time and almost knocked to bronze, we got better but rarely top 3 as we used to be.
@@j23j232002 well they released a discussion 'Answering Questions: Area Of Conquest & Clash Of Worlds' so i don't think you're the only one who feels this way... also getting rid of CoW will continue the narrative of titans being the chore we all have to do to get heroes leveled up (which i don't like, because i want super titans!)
We won with over 600k scores and I still hate AOC. Like literally no time to do anything. Guild wars weren't fought like they normally are. Dungeon not hit like normal. Campaign not done. Just sit and watch the map and see when chest pop and who's after who so you can run or fight.
I'm okay with CoW being replaced by AoC, since both were meant to involve the entire guild in some way. In fact, maybe CoW is better replacing both GW and AoC. It would be interesting to add a titan component to CoW meaning to win certain point gaining towns or castles are won by titans versus heroes. Would be nice if we could use two pets (and their hero associations) with heroes instead of just one. 😁
😅 AoC completely destroys the game, selecting the right heros from your stable to beat the enemy. You set out blind, come across the wrong team and are sent straight back to the castle. Perfect time to quit.
yeah, no I'm done, I enjoy CoW and I despise AoC, they already made the game too expensive to remain competitive and now they're trying to get me to invest more of my most precious commodity, my time? I've played every day for the last 5 years, after getting hoodwinked by the youtube ads that made it look like there were mini games that would be fun to play. I kept playing because I enjoyed my guildmates who are also fed up and leaving the game now, to the point that I am the last member of my guild that's been in the guild since I got there. In the meantime, they've killed off almost everything I found enjoyable about the game while adding things that can't be fun unless you spend a buttload of money that I won't do because I don't have it.
I hate it.Very much. Also I can't imagine that so many people like it more than CoW. I'll see how it develops, but it may be a reason for me to quit the game after three years.
AoC is completely different to Arena, where you get to select your heros to beat the enemy. In AoC you set out blind, then 9 out of 10 times are sent straight back to the castle blasted by a pre charged P2W latest heros meta team. I'm out.
Area of conquest takes a lot of time commitment. They are alienating people that can only spend 1 hour or less to play........what a stupid move......most people don't have the time play 24/7.......
Well i dont like iArena of conquest ...last time the guilds that my guild was matched against was like they had only 7 ppl with 130 lvl team power and my guild had 30 players and only one player was lvl102 team power and the enemy lowest player in team power was 122 ...so i did not like it not one second.
Out of the pan and into the fire. This is just pointless and stupid. They are removing one unpopular thing to give us an even worse unpopular thing that only works for the best players.. This is chaotic, messy and not needed. It is bad enough that it exists and happens, but to have it all the time....why? It isn't needed at all.
this makes me like the game even less i will still not spend money and only log on twice a day my guild will probably kick me this is stupid i hate AoC this game is getting for too time consuming they are bssicly saying pay and spend time or quit if it keeps on going like this more people will probably quit
CoW was just version of GW where your guild fights another one from another server. If a stronger guild focused their strongest teams on the bridge and up front a weaker guild couldn't get very far and that was that. With AoC weaker but more active guilds have a chance especially since the play is split between 4 equally powered guilds instead of one weaker guild that gets shutout from the start.
Disagree. For one thing the matchmaking isn't particularly good and matchups generally include at least one if not two guilds that are more powerful than the rest. Additionally, given how time consuming AoC is, unless your whole guild is playing the game often throughout the day, you have no chance because other guilds will snipe you on your way to a settlement or kill you in one and you won't know until you login again and check. I'd also say that what you mentioned about CoW is a feature, not a bug, as it allows guilds that may not have enough power in GW to compete at the highest level to at least do decently in another game mode and that'll be impossible here.
@@seandobbins2231 I just talk from experience from the last 2 AoC my guild has been through, of the 4 we were the most active but not the most powerful. Of the 30 members only 6 or so played everyday. The rest either did nothing at all or found a settlement stayed there until the event was over. The other guilds were less active than we were or had less members so that's how we've been winning each time. Also, that's one of the reasons I am in no hurry to join gold level leagues as the level of activity is bound to be something I can't keep up with.
@@animatsuri the fact that you're saying that you were the "most active" when only six played daily says a lot though, mainly that you fought nearly completely inactive guilds and that's the only way you won. My point is that when all things are equal, the game mode is unbalanced.
@@seandobbins2231 All I'm saying in AoC there's room to move and win. In CoW there a wall and you can't get past it. So is AoC more of a time suck? Sure. Just not as much as you might think.
As Sean posted, we were getting stomped as well, and all could do was suicide attacks. If guild is inactive then even in CoW weaker guild but very active could get more by spending all their attacks vs one that spent maybe third or quarter. We got last place with huge gap to opponents, and nobody wanted to play any further by loosing almost every time.
I just dont understand how they justify "less time-consuming" when time-consuming is the biggest reason why players hate AoC.
Developers are taking that into consideration for next events
I think it can be easily solved by raising the limit of action points from 12 to... say, 200? You log in once a day, walk through the whole map, beat opponents that you can beat, collect chests if they are available, get into some settlement, and leave
The next time you log in, you may have been kicked out of the settlement, but at least you have 200 action points to go change the course of history (not mere 12)

Agree, event posted that in their dumb survey that they send every so often hinting about red dots as only indicator.
I won't spend another damn dime on the game, when I finally use up the emeralds I've got, I'm gone
I hate AoC and enjoy CoW
when they take away the fun part of the game, it's time to leave
From my point of view this took a whole lot more time than COW not the "Less" they cite in the memo
Maybe you got it wrong When I read it i thought it ment less timeconsuming than the AOW we just played
@@gurregm Same for me, they are changing AoC to be less time consuming.
I don't believe employers are gonna understand the cause when people stops every hour to have heroes kill each other
Hate this move by Nexters. Absolutely hate it.
It does feel REALLY bad...
This event has happened twice, and people have found a way to cheat both times....YES LETS MAKE IT A PERMANENT GAME MODE!
They need to work on a Game Mode for Titans too, and a better MatchMaking.
They should have replaced Guild Wars with CoW.
I think they will have to incorporate titans into AoC, we cant have spent years getting 5 great teams to overnight be pretty much redundent
My guild loves AOC and we won again this last round - would be nice to have a mix of titans and heroes though
It'll be interesting to see if they can implement titans....
Another reason for replacing CoW with AoC is the mini-seasons and packages they sell alongside AoC. No potential revenue generator like that exists for CoW.
no clash means all the effort i put into juggling two Titan teams for Grand Titan Arena was pointless
also im overdue for a tip so:
Storm Event::
this is why you keep Axle at a competitive level (80 no later than anyone else) number two
you will run Martha, Thea, Nebula, Yas - and depending on where your account is at Lara, Jhu, or Isaac
Lara and Martha can duo the last boss.
you don't want to hit every node, you want to go around the circle in as few moves as possible only spending extra moves for out of the way chests - the boss should take two attempts
sorry this was late, good hunting gentlemen

I am happy about this change but I am the main assigner of COW targets for my guild. :)
I won't spend a single $ on titans ever. Good job Nexters !
you want to play the new mode Against another server and you don't have time buy a move pack, soon buffs for arena +50%
damage etc.
It's probably gonna be Arena meets Cosmic Battle. They will probably ban certain heroes but then maybe that screws Cosmic battle
do u think we will still be able to buy those avatar frames in the cow shop? now i wish i would have purchased some of them instead of yellow dominion gifts if they are no longer available
And need to say in first attept we end 2nd, and last time 1st. But still does not enjoy the event. and what about those who have finished worsed.
They probably have something planned for titans
maybe they bring a titan team to conquest map where they can only attack other titans and capture new locations that hero teams can't attack.
i'd like the map to go 8 sided with that many guilds on it.
I wish they'd fixed it instead of removing it.
i bet it's not gone for good. they're probably taking the time to redesign it and reintroduce it next year.
I love the glorified Arena comment...earned not given.
I bet they will make the 32 point spot a titan spot...so unless you have maxed titans you have no chance...would be smart
we won area of conquest by default, as no one else played it lol... and we were only three people for most of it!
@@j23j232002 ah I never experienced CoW, I am too low level
What surveys? do they answer themselves this surveys? most people hated AoC
Does anyone know if we need to spend all of our Clash of World Trophy coins before the dissolution of this event?
thx Charlie
Ummm...typically weaker guilds are weak not because of power, but lack of participation by members. :(
I'm not sure how they could make AoC worse, so any change is welcome. IMHO, replacing CoW with AoC is a terrible idea.
So all I put in titans is gone
I'm new to the game. How do I get to this event?
The event ended yesterday so you'll have to wait until they introduce the "permanent" version.
We won with over 600k scores and I still hate AOC. Like literally no time to do anything. Guild wars weren't fought like they normally are. Dungeon not hit like normal. Campaign not done. Just sit and watch the map and see when chest pop and who's after who so you can run or fight.
I loved the new game mode much more than the CoW. I don’t like the titans as much so I’m not super bummed by the change
thanks for the comment!
Never got a survey 😮
😅 AoC completely destroys the game, selecting the right heros from your stable to beat the enemy. You set out blind, come across the wrong team and are sent straight back to the castle. Perfect time to quit.
yeah, no
I'm done, I enjoy CoW and I despise AoC, they already made the game too expensive to remain competitive and now they're trying to get me to invest more of my most precious commodity, my time?
I'm out.
They will proly implement titans, cmon...
Area of conquest takes a lot of time commitment. They are alienating people that can only spend 1 hour or less to play........what a stupid move......most people don't have the time play 24/7.......
i never got to play it
Well i dont like iArena of conquest ...last time the guilds that my guild was matched against was like they had only 7 ppl with 130 lvl team power and my guild had 30 players and only one player was lvl102 team power and the enemy lowest player in team power was 122 ...so i did not like it not one second.
I will not be logging in more so I guess my guild will kick me, it is what it is
I.t cone take so long time to finnis it
this makes me like the game even less i will still not spend money and only log on twice a day my guild will probably kick me this is stupid i hate AoC this game is getting for too time consuming they are bssicly saying pay and spend time or quit if it keeps on going like this more people will probably quit
better
This mode sucks with an inactive guild

They are both bad. Just hope that the rewards are better than CoW.
And all titan is wast
takes too much time
All the cheating in COW & Asgard is also probably influencing these changes
AOC is much better than COW ... COW is dull and boring!
Comparing AOC with the Arena, come on it's nothing like Arena
