I wanted to thank you for this great review! I always hated the downsides of compressed air cans (namely the requirement of holding them upright) and didn't realize there was such an easy alternative. I already have a Milwaukee battery from my drill so this is perfect! I bought this and just used it for the first time today, blew me away.
I thought that I would get the Mellif Air Duster in the Dewalt style as I have many Dewalt tools. Unfortunately, I have the older Dewalt battery equipment that use the older batteries with the stem that fits into the tool's grips. So, now I have to buy yet another battery and charger. My question is, should I buy the Mellif Air Duster with the Mellif 4AH battery and charger or buy the Dewalt 5AH battery and charger? Thanks.
To me it makes more sense if you’re already on the current Dewalt battery system. Maybe you could pick up an old Dewalt battery and charger? Or if you need a new drill usually some good deals around that come with batteries and charger.
Wouldn’t it be considered a static blower instead of a low pressure blower? I’m fairly certain it has a centrifugal fan like a vacuum cleaner. Which work the best for electric “blowers”. I know all the other blowers are the smaller with the little metal duct fan, but this one has the normal vacuum motor. Just submerging to note
I don’t claim to understand batteries/electricity very well. Any concerns of damage to Dewalt batteries when using a device not made specifically for that brand? All my portable tools are Dewalt and I’ve never used my Dewalt batteries on anything other than Dewalt tools. I’m looking at getting the Dewalt version of the mini/handheld dust blower. Great video BTW! Seems like you know what you’re doing.
Thanks! I would just exercise a little caution - don't just run the tool until the battery completely dies. But you should be fine - I just keep an eye on the battery's status LED and swap it out when it gets to around 25%.
A smaller, more handy device like this one would be nice if it could match the PSI of the compressor. Every month I pull out everything I need to clean: House AC filters, car filters, vacuum cleaner filters, and even brooms and dustpan brushes, electric razors, etc. I usually bring out some woodworking tools that need to be blown out as well. My compressor isn't very large, so I have to wait on it to fill up from time to time it I'm blowing continuously for a bit (e.g., the HVAC filters). A hand-held blower with a concentrated airflow would be ideal, but none of these seem powerful enough.
Wow you sound very organised! Nothing I've tried comes close to the power of the compressor - but for a lot of those jobs I imagine this blower would work ok. The other (albeit expensive) option is a portable battery operated compressor. The big battery platforms all do one.
Seems slow to reach max power. Is there a knock off brand that has more power. I use an air compressor to clean chainsw grease vacuum cleaner filters etc
@@TheTechnologyManyes that’s kinda the point, some people don’t need one and that’s fine but if you have ever have bought a good cordless blower for your yard and found yourself using it for everything from blowing off your car to blowing dust off of the work bench or saw station etc you can easily see just how useful these are. Great video, I’d really love to see you do more tool testing and or repair videos as it seems you have the skill set to test them properly. Loved the video thanks again

That's great to hear!
This is awesome. I’m getting the Makita version. Mainly for blowing off my saws on site
Great let me know what you think of it!
@@TheTechnologyMandefinitely! It should be here this weekend
@@TheTechnologyMan got it! Seems to work great and the attachments are nice. Makita battery fitment is good. It is really loud!
@@tomforward990 Great! Yes it is noisy!
Did you mention the weight? Doing precision cleaning inside your pc is easier if it's not too heavy.
That's what the flexible hose is intended for - but you lose a fair bit of power. It's 660g / 1383g without / with 5Ah battery.
Thank you for the comparison with a compresso! i'm getting the compressor
Great - and compressor useful for so much more too!
fantastic review, proper professional and sensible presentation with in depth relevant information... keep up the good work.
Thank you - much appreciated!
Can you try with Milwaukee HO batteries? The battery was fast blinking after a single use. Battery came after putting on the charger though.
Sorry I don't have any at the moment - will try and source one.

I’m not sure what you mean but it has a fair bit of power for its size.
Any chance to use it with pneumatic "dremel" type pen... ?
Sorry not sure what you mean?
For DeWalt is there a minimum recommended battery size? 1.5ah, 3ah, 5ah? Obviously the larger the battery the more sustained voltage
They should all deliver the same power. In my tests the battery wasn't the limiting factor.
Between M12 & M18 battery line which is worth for buying?
Personally I'd start with M18. You can always add M12 later.

What is the exactl brand name of the Milwaukee ( model )
If you check the video description I have a link to the specific model.
Have Mellif stopped to produce this product?
No it's still available - see my link for Amazon or order it from Mellif Tools directly.

Perhaps the genuine Makita one. But it still won't compare to the blast an air compressor gives.
An Air compressor Can or the Makita?@@TheTechnologyMan
Why buying this over a compact leaf blower?
It's more compact mainly. Also has accessories for inflating and deflating.

Good for water on car ?
In little nooks and crannies like around the wing mirrors yes. But not for anything bigger than that really.
Where to buy?
There should be links in the description of the video, but I bought mine from Amazon US - took around a week to the UK.
I have seen somewhere that this is not as powerful as the original makita
I haven't tested it against the Makita sorry.
これはパチモンですね 本家マキタではないですね
Sorry Google translate didn't work?
