We're not normally a huge fan of tours and love exploring new cities on our own BUT with just one day to explore Abu Dhabi we thought a city tour with a local would be the best way to experience this stunning desert city.
Our local guide Soumia did not disappoint! It felt less like a tour and more like we were visiting a friend and having the best day in Abu Dhabi together.
We highly recommend taking this City Tour of Abu Dhabi if you have a layover or just a day to explore.

does public transport there 24 hours? I plan to not book a hotel, just to look arround the city and came back to the airport, wondering whether i can return directly to the airport using public transport, Thank you

Hi Derry and Driany 👋 thank you so much and hope its inspired you for your layover! As Australian and French passport holders we didn't need to apply for a visa but its always best to check for yourself depending what passport you hold 🧡

Exciting! We had the funnest layover here 🤗 I’m not sure about your baggage you will need to check with the airline (probably when you check in for your flight). I’d assume you would collect your luggage for such a long layover though 😊
how about all the bagage? is it still in airplane? or you have to take with you into hotel an tomorrow have to check in again?

We had to take our baggage with us but we just left it in the car while we toured around 😊 we only had carry on and if we’d had checked baggage it would have stayed in the airplane/airport transfer area!

were there any lockers provided at the airport? What were the charges? I am planning to hang out in a 20 hour layover as well. Also, if I seek any guide for doing any dune bashing adventure in the daylight, are there any available at the airport?
There are but we couldn't find them! Luckily our tour had room in the car for us to store our small suitcases whilst we explored. Not sure about the dune bashing when we were researching we noticed all the tours for that experience went out for sunset (because it's SO HOT during the day) so it wasn't doable for us and we wanted to explore the city anyhow.
@@MaxandJacqueline thank you for this info. Apparently, I am coming there on a Friday, a public holiday. So I have to be sure to what to do immediately upon landing at 7 in the morning with a 20 hours of layover
@@MaxandJacqueline I personally wanted to try dune bashing first in the morning and then hop on to other places like the mosque (opens at 4 Pm) and the corniche.
That sounds great! I’d recommend booking online and organising an airport pick up to ensure you can’t fit everything in

I believe there are storage facilities but we didn’t use them. We took our luggage as it was small and could fit in the car 😊
