Interesting the two concepts mentioned Capacity (gas tank) & Power (miles per gallon). Even more interesting is the fact that power is not defined solely by 'strength' but by efficiency (technique). I keep coming back to this because in my view, as a masters swimmer (without competitive background), you quickly learn that a good swimmer is not made by a body type (or relative age) but by the skill in moving through the water efficiently.
