      Respectfully they couldn’t give a shit, they continually obstruct these senate hearings, they are a law unto themselves and need to be accountable and punished when they deliberately obstruct any scrutiny of their actions. They have become heavily politicised and there absolute contempt for those senators that actually do their jobs trying to work for the Australian people. The continued scoffing at questions an absolute refusal to accept they are in the wrong. They had no intention of revealing they lied to the senate. Not good enough 😡😡

    I am a former member of both the ACT Police and Australian Federal Police. I was one of the first members in Canberra to be sworn into the Australian Federal Police on the night shift starting on 18 October 1979. We were sworn in after mid-night - that being on 19 October, the inception of the AFP. (Even these numb-nuts can instruct a staff member to track me down to identify me - there aren't many of us left).
    These so-called Police Officers are an embarrassment, even more worrying, they are supposed to be managers of Police personnel. They might speak with confidence and bravado but the angriest man that they would have encountered would have been a distressed and ill-treated Police Officer under their command. I doubt that they would have felt the collar of a truly angry man who had a history of assaults, and I doubt that they had to comfort victims of crimes or deal with serious assailants, robbers, thieves, rapists and child molesters.
    They would not know how to de-escalate a volatile situation and to then to calmly and fairly interview offenders off such crimes.
    I had never been seriously assaulted in my time as a Police Officer, but I truly suspect that, if any of these guys had been operational Police Officers, they would have been assaulted by crooks who would have been provoked by the arrogance of these fools.
    Given their presentation before the Senate Committee, they clearly do not know the law governing their responsibility to the Parliament or to the community.
    Yet, I can almost guarantee that, if a Constable were to give evidence in Court with the same level of avoidance, misleading remarks, pretense of ignorance - essentially, false testimony - he or she would be dragged over the coals and face disciplinary action.
    I'm so glad that I am no longer associated with an organisation governed by this band of dishonest no-hopers.

      @HighlanderGeoff ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @swagmanexplores7472 I concede to your first-hand experiences of these individuals. Perhaps they were commendable Officers when they were performing 'real' Police work. But in my time, most senior officers were fueling their own climb to the upper ranks by adopting the style of those who they are trying to emulate and replace. That is, they were selfish, slimy operators looked to advance their careers rather than being leaders who are to be driven to make a community a safer place. When they got to their dizzying heights, they forgot the purpose of "the job". I could name a senior ranking officer who killed the start of an investigation into alleged corrupt behaviour of senior politicians that I had initiated in the early 1990s. An Assistant Commissioner, no less, killed any further investigation only TWO days after he had approved the operation. The irony and hypocrisy is that, after the brief details came to the notice of newspaper at the time, the AFP came after me.
      Things might have changed during your time, but I gave up trusting senior ranking Police a very long time ago.
      The manner in which these current senior offers present their 'evidence' before the Senate confirms to me that little has changed within the senior ranks of the AFP.

And then little jonny come along and culled a heap of the heads of departments and replaced them with his stooges, Abbot did the same cause he's nuts, and morroson when he come in said something like "you do what i say" The LNP took away public servants ability to be frank and honest and replaced it with a fear of being sacked.

    People sadly are way to slow or lazy for that matter to look into so much that is paid for by ourselves. As such we dont really have a clue what is going on until it is too late in some cases. The AFP is a taxpayer funded organization and as such is supposed to operate in the best interests of the Australian people but it would appear that they also operate on the best interests of certain individuals or organizations like the major political parties. The charter or rules under which they operate should be thrown open for review by the Australian people and if deemed necessary reformed so it conforms with the wishes of the Australian people in line with our constitution and beliefs.

    if i could eat this video for breakfast lunch and dinner i would be sustained forever. Australian police love using fear tactics on civilians while they are aware of the power dynamics involved in their line of work. watching that AFP officer utter a measly and weak "ok" after denying the truth and then being reprimanded like a child was glorious.
