Seriously such a great LP. Some of the shredding sooometimes feels a touch same-y due to how near constant the soloing is, but goddamn, such a beautiful and well written and produced album. Also one of my favorites from last year. Phil Tougas is such a talented dude it's almost unfair, haha. Phil's work in Equipoise and Chthe'ilist is also top notch.
Can't tell you how many times I've watched this particular playthrough...Samuel Santiago is a real beast. First Fragment is absolutely for real...and even though the vocals are all in French, they are legitimately one of my favorite tech death bands 🤘
there's a new First Fragment drum video released today (literally 4 hours ago) by their current drummer of a song off their newest album, skill looks amazing. Hopefully will see a reaction pop up on this channel eventually :) It's why I am here rewatching this reaction again.
You should be glad you don't have to teach this stuff. I have a 16 year old student who has decided she is going to join the titans of metal drumming and now I have to spend 2-3 hours every day on cardio alone just to have the energy to demonstrate all the things she wants to learn.
The song is great. One of my favourites. But... Their newest album is completely mindblowing. It is a masterpiece. 19 solos (including bass guitar) in one song? No problem, First Fragment has you covered. These guys are outstanding.
For me I find it funny being an extreme music drummer myself I tend to watch videos of the bassist Dominic and his ridiculous fretless when I wanna listen to this band
I feel this in my soul. That man alone made the band stand out to me and is by far my favorite bass player right now. I'm a drummer as well and know nothing about bass other than Forest makes it look and sound like magic.
An experienced racing driver's brain gets used to going fast and develops the ability to slow everything down, so 150mph feels more like 50mph. I can only assume something similar is going on with these extreme speed drummers - it probably feels a lot slower than it is to him. He's incredibly relaxed, too. At one point he cocks his head to side like 'yeah, I'm just going to do this for a bit'.
I love how relaxed he is playing this stuff its like hes looking up at times thinking about making a sandwich or what he should do after filming hmmm...maybe go for a jog then the gym haha
Although not a drummer I love your content. I've been wanting to mention this drummer for awhile so now that I'm thinking about it. Phil Ehart from Kansas. IMO one of the best progressive rock drummers out there and very unsung. Really no iso videos of him but this is a pretty good one and one of Kansas' greatest songs th-cam.com/video/nI5RenGTSuo/w-d-xo.html

First Fragment is legit. Out of all the albums I’ve listened to last year, their album Gloire Éternelle was my most played.
GREAT!

I think I listened just to Gloire Eternelle and Solus for three weeks straight before I even touched the rest. :-D
Maybe check out new drummer of theirs - Nicholas Wells drumthrough playing Soif Brulante ??
the bassist come from another band called "Beyond creation" i love it

viel glück dabei lol

I listen to tons of tech death and First Fragment is absolutely top tier. They are super fast and technical but as melodic as possible.
🙌
Can't believe I missed this one, he's such a beast of a drummer !!🤘🏻
Yes Jamie!

Another band that I need to add to the list. Very cool and chops for days. Thanks!
First Fragment is absolutely amazing
Fantastic! Bravo.
Amazing skills. That surfer dude clip though, i always laugh way too long at it lol.
HAHA! BLAZED
@@AndrewRooneyDrums Very much so hahaha.
Holy sardines in the oven this very good🤘🏾🥁
and yet he still looks relaxed.
Dude is a machine.
Yes Douglas!
Good choice, man!
Glad you think so!
Do you have a time ceiling for requests and recommendations?
I love how relaxed he is playing this stuff its like hes looking up at times thinking about making a sandwich or what he should do after filming hmmm...maybe go for a jog then the gym haha
Yes Neil!
That was the technique of Ricardo Merlini within a band !!
Awesome!
🤯🤯🤯
Yup!
PSA: Matt Garstka just put out a video breaking down the composition of the most technically complicated song on AAL's newest album
Anyone does blasts that start with the hands?! They often feel backwards to me.
Facility!!
Inascoltabile! Mi sembra che ora mai siano tutti tecnici, chitarristi, batteristi, bassisti ecc ecc tutti mostri ma senza core!

Did Steve Carell get royalties for this one? :-p
HAHA
Added First Fragment to my library! This guy is choppy for sure!
Yes indeed!
Didn't they get a new drummer?
Nicholas joined in 2018, been in the band twice as longer than Sam
Like Raven said please do the new playthrough by their current drummer Nicholas! th-cam.com/video/rVE0pNffblY/w-d-xo.html
Camera angles kinda suck on this video
Horrible editing on that one. Half of the best parts weren't even watchable.
Oh no Paul!
first
fragment
BOOM! HAHA
