Apex Predators Of The African Wild | Africas Deadliest | Real Wild

  • The Luangwa River in Zambia is home to more crocodiles than anywhere else on earth. They thrive here because the landscape is deadlier than any predator. The Luangwa is the last surviving water source during the hot summer months but many animals don't make it. One of the most feared predators in the world is the lion. Capable of speeds over 60km per hour they can kill any large mammal in Africa. Wild dogs the size of household pets conquer prey more than 10 times their size, and the tiny mongoose's tight family unit keeps it out of trouble. Buffalo travel in herds up to 1,000 strong, and when threatened, they attack in force.
    During the annual Sardine Run, a super-pod of common dolphins up to 5,000 strong rely on their military precision to outmaneuver sharks and feed on the plentiful sardines.

    As the record shows, the cheetah and african wild dog are by far one of the most & efficient of all Africa's apex predators regarding their high success rate hunts who are recorded to be 55-90% of their hunts end up on a good kill, not to mention their incredible speed and are known as antelope deadly killers.

      Unfortuantly, cheetahs are badly griefed by just about every other predator and their cubs mortality can be as high as 90% in some areas.

    My goodness!! These hyenas are brutal. They don't kill their preys first before start ripping them apart and feasting on them. That was too gruesome to watch. Much respect for the lions, leopards and tigers. At least they wait for them to die first.

    • @tazcahoon4051
      @tazcahoon4051 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s where you’re wrong! If there’s more than one lion. One lion will kill the prey and the others bitting into the preys gut and ass!! Can take 30 mins for a lion to suffocate their prey they will put their mouths over their preys nose and mouth and suffocate them while the other lions are ripping the animal apart !

    • @J24J
      @J24J ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Many animals eat their prey alive. It’s the only way they can survive. Lions prefer to eat their prey alive and will only kill first if they could be injured by the prey. But if you had to be eaten, choose the leopard because they usually kill in one bite and you would never see them coming.

In fact, i have encountered the scene with the first bull in a video shot in Zimbabwe. That bull was rescued by an elephant bull .... and he managed to get away ....

      African lions, spotted hyenas and African wild dogs hang in packs as they are social creatures and will rely on backup sometimes. Leopards, cheetahs and snakes will hunt alone for not sharing a meal unless with the offspring, in the case of the cheetah and leopard. Crocodiles are a mix of the two, they can cooperate with each other to break up a large catch, but they are mostly solitary hunters.

      Lol dogs will kill their prey in seconds lions will take 30 mins suffocating their prey by putting their mouth over their preys nose and mouth so they can’t breath and die slowly while their cat friends are ripping them open! Lol but dogs while kill quicker and sharper bites puts the animal into shock dies faster and less pain

    • @J24J
      @J24J ปีที่แล้ว

      Animals only kill their prey first so as not to be injured by them. If the prey can easily be subdued, they’ll usually eat them alive. Being eaten alive looks bad but is more merciful because it is quick. Suffocation takes a long time and the prey suffers much longer. It just looks “cleaner.”
