I see a lot of people saying they don't want him because we have Gravenberch. Of course, Gravenberch is an amazing player and is one of the best in form midfilerds in the world but an extra player wouldn't hurt. He fits our play style very well and would be great rotation with Macca and Gravenberch to reduce injury risk between the 3. Teams win and lose titles based on squad depth and injuries so I would take him any day.
We cannot compete with City if we don't have top class depth. It's that simple. We've been very fortunate in previous seasons, like 19/20, but Klopp often fell short because we had no where near the depth needed when the injuries came. We also want competition. It's healthy and what you see with City, Real Madrid, etc.

They fact he decided to stay at his boyhood club is understandable. he's never played for anyone else and wanted to stay loyal. But as time has passed maybe he does feel he made a mistake and the chance to join a club like ours is just to good to turn down. He was the only big signing we wanted and Slot really likes him and what he can bring to our club. I really hope we can get him in January and he can be the final piece to our midfield jigsaw.

Also with fsg being tight sometimes it's just best to take what your being given while there giving it. It's not unlike them to look at slot & think you can make it to the summer. Then when summer comes there other cheaper options & ideas

It was always a powerplay. The player staying loyal to the parent club despite getting a solid contract offer from Liverpool. When Real Sociedad can’t match the wages offered by Liverpool they are forced to sell him. The player don’t risk his reputation with Sociedad fans, Liverpool get their player and he proves to his new clubs fans he is loyal, and Real Sociedad get the money, and can say they couldn’t match the money involved in the deal. A win, win and win situation. I felt this was always what was going to happen since the «collaps» of the summertransfer. Why would a player of his talent stay at a «small» club, with no real hope of silverware when he could move to one of the biggest clubs out there for a far bigger wages?? Probably won’t win much at Liverpool, but his wages and marketvalue in terms of personal sponsorship will increase tenfold. And set him nicely up for a Real Madrid/ Barca move further down the line🤷🏼♂️

I don't think that Zubimendi is coming in January, nope if he didn't come while it was the right time in the 3-month transfer window why would he come in January, however he might come but it'll happen next year round about the summer transfer window. I think we should replace Nunez in January I'm really sorry to say that but Nunez is not up to Liverpool standards we need a deadly striker and Nunez unfortunately does not make the cut.

He gave his "word" then reneged, seems keeping your word as a “man” means nothing these days! If we do go for him again it must be for less transfer money, wages and perks. Nah, don’t believe it. Even if it does turn out to be true, sod him. He made his decision, he needs to own it. Backtracking on his word to come to us in the summer mucked our entire foolish transfer strategy up, especially after it went public. It’s fortunate that Gravenburch has managed to step into that role of a 6 (of which I still have reservations about). Also, do we really want a player from a team currently getting slapped about in La Liga? Doesn’t really say much about his performance in that position.
