Yup, you can see here one of the best funfair ride we have in France, the Sobema's "Break Dance Extreme", owned by Mr.Bigolet and his family. It's one of the fastest Break Dance we have (with Mr.Marc Huss Break Dance), and it's beautifully operated with nice techno music and a damn good lightshow. Since 2016 there's a few changes in the lightning, and it's more beautiful than ever. The ticket price is about 3.5€ or 4€ depending on the funfair. The "DJ" in the center of the ride is an animatronic prop, made to look like Carl Cox (the name of the "mannequin" is Karl Kob's, lol). The name "Extreme" comes from a 90's club in Affligem, Belgium, called simply "Extreme". The owner of the ride was a big fan of the belgian clubbing culture, so he borrowed the name to make an hommage. Because the ride is faster and more powerful than the other, you can also say that it's extreme. If one day you're planning to visit France and go to a funfair, try to catch-up the ride. You won't regret it ! ;-) Here are the usual tour dates of the ride : - Saint-Omer (january/february) - Hazebrouck (february/march) - Saint-Dizier (march/april) - Caen (april/may) - Orléans (may/june) - Marseillan Lunapark (whole summer) or Bruay-la-Buissière (august) - Lille (september) - Saint Quentin (october) - Soissons (november) - Dunkerque (december/january)
I rode this back in the 80's or 90's at (can't remember) when it debuted on the Wildwood, NJ boardwalk. I could have sworn there was a feature where only the cars rotated while the entire platform stayed still. That was what made me and my dad (who was riding with me) more ill than anything. It was when the cars and the platform rotated together which was actually better. There were people definitely sitting down after they got off the ride to capture their composure.
@@jordi6535 I KNEW IT. Good to hear someone else confirm it. As I mentioned, that exact thing occurred at the ride I rode in NJ ... they did 2 rounds each ... 2 of just the cars spinning on the arms and the platform remaining still, and 2 with the entire platform and arms rotating together.
Antoine Osburn This ride years ago used to be called octopus and it had 8 arms ifI remember correctly, now they have removed some arms and called it break dance. Wen on it today and love it.
@ Antoine Nope. Break Dance 1,2,3 and Rodeo are (were, indeed) manufactured by Huss rides in Germany. Boosters are also manufactured by Huss but they are very very rare and extreme variantes of the classic Break Dance. The ride showcased in this video is the Break Dance Extreme, a Sobema break dance manufactured around 1987 in Belgium. You can still find it in France funfairs. Sobema also designed some Shaker rides. Shake'n'Roll rides are manufactured by Mondial Rides (NL). And then, there's Fabbri (ITA) Crazy Dance and King Loop (aka Shakers). Note that the Break Dance Extreme is my favorite Break Dance of all. I just love the speed, the ambiance and the music. @ Danielle Nope, Octopus are completely different and typical rides from UK and USA.
HUSS is the factory which manufactures breakdancer but there are other manufacturers but is not a breakdancer Make huss but bayern breaker is a Huss Breakdance
me and my bff went on this and the scrambler and, I swear we almost hit, the thing in, the middle and our csrt thingy almost broke it was all held together by 1! single safety pin I was scared to death

the ride operator must get quite dizzy stood on the center of the ride!

It's not a real person.
Matthew Robertson Ok you are dumb. That’s not the operator, it’s not even a real human.
I love these. I actually find them relaxing.
I wish I was there at the brake dance extreme ride

There are actually controlled separately. You can let the crosses with the cars spin while the floor stays still.
