Voltaire does an in driveway video of how to do a FJ Cruiser dash disassembly, dissemble or removal in order to install the new digital dash / LCD dash by Carobotor. The new digital / lcd dash is an excellent upgrade to your FJ Cruiser and a great alternative or replacement for the existing FJ Cruiser gauges. I definitely need to get this Bad Boy! It would be super cool if you could sync the eFlexFuel kit with it. Like accessory options for sensors & gauges. I like how it shows the 4wd gear location. Its one thing thats missing on the OEM Cluster.
Also the hand brake warning is my truck specifically, i had to disable it in the dash. UPDATE had to set to mode 2 then it worked.
Just switched mine to mode 1 and parking brake indicator works now.

dude loved the video hello from el paso tx I just want you to know that I really liked the way you explained everything you see I'm really not sure about when I do mods to the fj I get all nervous 😢 and I feel like I'm going to brake something and just recently I had a bad experience I had some business installed like the headlights you have on your fj well the blinker part of it looks like what I had with something that looks like a broken halo but the looked great the lights lasted 6 months and I spent alot of money and from there just didn't know but seeing videos like your help I just want to thank you

Great video and install walkthrough. I am curious, what is going on with the pitch angle reading? Is that something that needs to be programmed or is the sensor bad? Shows you are 40 degrees or greater in the various screens. Thanks for the feedback.

Put mine in yesterday and your vid was invaluable! Couple of slight issues…
1. WTF is the female USB cable for?
2. My left an right steering wheel buttons do not control my Kenwood head unit like it did before the install. Other than that it was straight forward!

Thx man, usb is for updates, my buttons got a tad wonky as well, I just did the FJ button Install vid. It explains USB, and the buttons rock now.

Yes when you order, you pick, to change it after you have to ask them for a file to upload.

One more question... when you replied about the MPG not being fully programmed whats the process or what do you have to do in order for the unit to reflect the correct miles left
So it is reading directly from the ECU so it's accurate, but it's default to having an external additional gas tank, so once you flip to the settings screen you can set it to one tank, you can reset pitch of fj, you can turn door open and seat belt warnings off and much more!

Hey hey bear wtih me on this vid, its my first one lol. Also note the cable i used for the steering wheel buttons is actually a passthrough cable which i reroute later in the video. The port its plugged into is not used on the dash as of now, maybe its for something later.

Hi ,I hope you are well and fully recovered from covid ,I wanted to ask did you update your carobotor dash ? If you did May I know it’s ok to do it even you don’t get the carobotor steering buttons ?
Sorry didn't see this, yes i updated it with a file they sent through whatsapp contact, or facebook and you dont need the buttons.

Excellent video. I just have two gripes about this unit.
1. No spare tire tpms which makes it ridiculous when doing tire rotations.
2. The truck color isn't user selectable.
When you lock your diff or turn on ATRAC, does that show on screen? Is the pitch and dive configurable? I noticed it shows the fj on screen pointing down.
i told them about the 5th sensor and we use 5 not four... they said they will speak to the tech i totally agree.
Nope truck color not selectable, kinda lame but they will send you a file you simply plug in usb and it updates to different color automatically
I did no settings on the video i was learning it at the same time, yes you can reset the angle in the settings which i did after
They now sell with 5 Tpms

Great job,was waiting for it anxiously but still have few questions which I'll ask when mine mine arrives in another 4 days I guess...do you need to contact them on whats app before you install or what...and how do you switch off the seat belt warning warning,in my orignal one I did it with toyota system scanner,does this dash have an option to swith it off?
There are a whole bunch of settings you can adjust using the mode qi and the other keys on your steering wheel you don't have to turn off the seatbelt warning I just like it off And yes WhatsApp is the fastest and best way to contact them and they will send you the instructions on how to use the device in APDF format in WhatsApp

I didn’t have the steering wheel controls b4 but I installed them & I can’t get the mode button to respond
Let them know, they will send a file for you to do an update and then it will work

Yes you need to contact them and they will send you a reset file.

So mine was easy, I went to the tire shop, they installed the sensors and 30 seconds of driving they started reading automatically.

Did you have to do something to get steering angle to work? Mine doesn’t read and I still have no sound from mine.
A sound update, unplugged it and plugged it back in now sounds work. For the headlight on
Steering angle, if I remember you can calibrate in the settings, as for sound, no idea

Yup on the switch, one for front and back and wired so front can't turn on without rear first

I have mine installed but I can't get the tpms sensors to read. im using the stock tpms sensor which was an option with the dash. could anyone help with that
I probably get the ones from them instead then
@@skyroninfjscififjcruiserby8352 the connector was from them. They have a harness that’s supposed to work with your stock tpms
I've had the same problem, I didn't get the tpms from them and used my oem ones and they gave me a harness for them, doesn't let me sync them up to the dash

Yes
I had a professional install done by EC Offroad (their distributor) but without a detailed manual it is impossible to work out what "modes 1,2 3" are, how the TPMS works and numerous other issues like alarms going off that cannot be silenced (turning alrms to ison only ddoes not even stop the bell). Anyone else found a manual for the product as support does not respond (over 10 days two phone calls to the installer and 2 emails to the installer, and a video link and 2 emails to the manufacturer)? I tried posting in their support fourm but as soon as Ilisted things not working I was banned... So their tech support forum is really just a marketing front & does not allow issues to be raised. Very disappointing.
Yup understand, I had to use whatsapp and Facebook to talk to them they were quick to respond.
