Really looking forward to your travels to the rest of the globe! Been to Jordan a few years. I thought Petra was stupidly expensive and worth it. I guess the rest was okay as its still fairly cheaper that England. I think we spent approx £800 forexcursions, car hire, hotels and food etc in 4 nights/5 days. This did not include flights. I'm planning a Europe trip in the next few days (excluding UK), becuase I got a visa for the Schengen zone but it has a few days so can't apply for the UK visa at the moment. Will do that later. Secondly, I'm in Karachi, Pakistan right now. :)

Got my jordan visa on Hayya card last year. Then Visited jordan last December 2022 with Qatar and jordan combined tour. i was also surprised & shocked to see how expensive jordan was. The public transportation system is worthless to use as a foreigner and the taxis are a rip off, literally. No rail network to connect the main cities as Egypt has. Mostly i was in Amman, the room i got was around 6500 PKR per night. Which was very okay for that price. In fact it was a great value for money hotel room. The hotel was New park hotel, downtown Amman. Visites Jerash city and surrounding historical sites including the Mqame Musa and Ashab e kaaf site. Thankfully skipped Petra.
I visited ,jourdan, last July 2023 ,flight was from sharjah to Amman,2340 AED ,hotel was like hostel,name was Sydney hotel,in Amman 4 nights 567 AED, food per day 230 AED ,but I controlled later like 120 AED or 200 AED,transportation like if private car,326 AED and 240 AED plus Petra 250 AED ticket,other places etc so like wise,Jourdan is highly expensive in middle east,visa to jourdan from consulate of jourdan online cost ,320 AED .

Walk saheb According to information given by you I think Jordan is more expensive than Switzerland because per capita income of Switzerland is very high.
