    I've been trying to brute force learning scratching, and just stumbled across this about a few months in my journey. This series will be immensely helpful! Hoping to keep the craft alive. Thank you Angelo!

    I've read several Flare Orbit Tutorials and didn't get the point, which is the open crossfader between the forward and backward movement. Thanks man... this was really helpful... keep up the good work...

    I have been DJing professional for 6 years now and I'm finally getting into turntabelism and I'm super stoked to find you! This will really help me tie the knot on my career as a DJ and get to the next level. I started out as a producer and then DJing for clubs just sort of fell into my laptop because I understood sound. I had no idea how to DJ though lol over time I've gotten really comfortable with my transitions, beat matching, loops, using effects, and reading a crowd so I am so stoked to start progressing into some legit performance DJing. I have played guitar my whole life so I am hoping the coordination I have gained from that over the years will help me with scratching 😅 man this is going to be so awesome! Thank you so much for the practice routines! I will practice super hard and send you a video once I get it the routines down ✊

    I just found your videos and i'm not afraid to say i'm 40 and always wondered why I couldn't get most of this stuff back in the 80's and wound up switching over to rappin. Now in about half an hour you have explained what was going wrong. I now am going to buy some more Tech 12's and try again. I know i'll be able to get given the instructions you've especially the part about the faders. My faders weren't coming in untin it got past half way and as a beginner i wasn't fast enough for that.

    You are really an awesome DJ! The efforts you made in creating a video with a more specific and detailed information as well as the step-by-step procedure, truly helped me a lot! I give you my highest respect man!
    Even though I am left record- handed, your video really works for me as well! Thank you very much DJ Angelo for sharing your thoughts and ideas and may the good Lord give you more blessings to come!!!

    Oh man, you are the bomb; and this tutorial rocks the house! So great to finally see a well put together tutorial, I only happened to stumble across it searching for 1 click flare, but think I will start at the beginning of your tuts cos they are very clear and professional. Well spoken, love the comprehensive step by step, love the combo and beat demos, good camera angle for hand positioning and you've not gone too fast which most do making it hard to learn! Lovin it.

  • @djflert9874
    @djflert9874 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    These tutorials are great... wish I'd found them 12 years ago when you posted them. I've been through them all as tbh I never really bothered about actual names of scratches etc etc in the 20+ years I've been djing... I got all the way to the flare and it was great to actually properly learn the names and the correct technique and for me how / what scratch I could already do to produce what sound. The flare wasn't in my repertoire, but thanks to this I'm slowly getting it :) I'm sure you've 1000 better things to do, but I fully vote for some more and would love to see some specific combo tutorials... anyway, big thanks, much love and respect 👊🏻

    To record from your turntables to your laptop, you can use a PHONO to MINI-JACK cable. Connect the PHONO end to your mixer's LINE OUT and the MINI-JACK end to your laptops LINE IN. Regarding software, you could use Audacity or Sound Forge. Make sure the LINE-IN input has been enabled on your laptop.

    Hey DJ Angelo! You're awesome! Thanks for sharing you knowledge and time with us. By the way, what's the name of the song that you're scratching at the end of the video, and when you're scratching are you thinking like "ok, let's do some flares in here, and then transform" or you're just doing what do you feel fits the best? Thanks a lot! Greetings from Mexico.

  • @DJAngeloUK
    @DJAngeloUK  15 ปีที่แล้ว

    There's no such thing as a stupid question as everyone has to start somewhere. DJs scratch using sounds that are on the vinyl, by moving them forwards and backwards. Any sound can be scratched but it works best with clear, isolated sounds so most DJs nowadays scratch using specific records that are produced only for this purpose. There are many "scratch records" on the market. Just check the "DJ Tools" section of a record store. I'd recommend you watch my first tutorial which explains further...

  • @bartjunited
    @bartjunited 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    thanks buddy seen many of these tutorials but really like the way you have broken it down and then givein some patterns to try. Ive been djing for 31 years but was brought up learning to transform only so getting used to using the crossfader in the opposite direction has been my single biggest issue with learning to flare. I keep closing the fader as i let the sound out :-). What would you suggest to help with this? keep up the good work

    @slickmasta12 You're right, vinyls are expensive. Also, here in Finland there aren't much electronic music vinyl shops and vinyls must be ordered from for example UK. I recommend you to buy used Traktor control vinyl setup and use beatport, itunes, etc to buy your music. Much cheaper that way and you don't have to save from vinyl players.
