Bonus i guess is that the ideal or standard broadcast image for korea is a clean body without tattoos. I guess the main reason is that it isnt the ideal image for viewers. Im korean i personally think its okay. And hot 😂 but yeah. Theres still a broadcast/law or rule i guess for tattoos to be either covered with skin colored tape or just be blurred out during broadcast. Not just in MBC its like that for every Channel in korea.

It takes much time to change public perception if already existing image is so strong. Also it's because this is television network which is for wider audience (they don't censor tatoo or cigarette in films), but for broadcast, since it has chance of encouraging them to the underage or making people uncomfortable, they take it out; tatoo or smoking etc. It's either taking it out or changing ratings to have more freedom in contents. (That is, if restriction on airing hours is okay with producers. They would have to air late at night, if it's R18.)
Obviously if the channel is major one, it will have to make more conservative decisions on these matters because it has larger viewers. On the other hand, smaller cable channel/satellite tvs has less filters than major ones.
