I've been very happy with Plugin Alliance. I compared their API against UA's and there was no difference in overall quality despite being different model API. Got the same punch and goodness, just different EQ curves. However, UA did have 2 plugins that I wanted so I bought them. BUT... while installing, UA slammed over 650 demo plugins taking up over 16 GB onto my HD!!! 😡😡😡 I'm furious. It's been a nightmare trying to get them off. Apparently, this sneaky tactic goes back years regardless of hundreds of complaints. Never again will I buy from UA.
Nice Video. If you do it again, I'd suggest a couple of thoughts: 1) You balanced the costs of Subscriptions vs Bundles, but I'd add that the Individual Plugin prices matter as well. Once you have a catalog, how much does it cost to Add to that catalog the pieces you want. Historically UA plugins were about $100 and PA were about $30 on average. But at this time, and for the first time in decades, UA are selling thier plugins at those PA / Waves prices. 2) Plugin Alliance, specifically Brainworx, actually Makes quite a few of Universal Audio's plugins (along with Softube & Sonnox). The code is exactly the same, but the BX version is native and the UA versions are UAD2. (Although maybe not relevant if you were only trying to compare Native plugins. ) 3) The UA Ultimate bundle has been on sale lately for around $1200 (even less down to $750 if you already owned some). It includes All of the spark Native plugins and a ton of the UAD2 ones as well (though you'd need hardware to use em, by having them you'll also Get the Native versions whenever they become available) So UA Ultimate for $1200 is a good comparison to the Plugin Alliance $1000 bundle.
Hi thanks a lot for your input. You have great point here! These things are definitely important and they should have been also considered for the video! Maybe for part 2 😊😊
That's part of their marketing BS .. Everyone thinks man this must be great look at the CPU usage.. LOLO Plugin Alliance is better sound quality for me it's never about price.. Start using our ears and not be fooled by marketing tactics... Compare and you will see if you take the time to do it
I don’t know why I never vibed with slate 😞 there something about the visuals that don’t resonate with me. They make great products and a lot of people use them but I guess they are just not for me
Yeah I really like it! Specially when paired with better touch tool and keyboard maestro you can do pretty cool things with it. I might do a video about it soon
I like plugins from both, but in terms of susbscription, Plugin Alliance is a way better deal. PA overcomes some of the objections to subscription models by locking in your price and giving you free plugins every year. You could concievably subscribe to PA for as long as you want, cancel and still leave with your favorite plugins. Combine that with PA's aggressive sales promotions and you have a way OUT of the subscription model without just wasting your money. On top of all that, there are WAY more plugins of WAY more variation with PA. UA, while great, are mostly just offering emulations of old hardware. PA offers that too, but also innovate plugins, tools, and instruments that have nothing to do with emulating a console from 1958.
@@ThatProMix Please try them for a month.. You wont use UA anymore I promise and try some Slate too.. All better than UA Use your ears not what someone suggest Come on are we sound engineers or what??
I have both (ALL of the plugins), Plugin Alliance is very efficient, and low CPU usage. UAD is very good also, but too much CPU usage (I have big projects)

Yeah I’m also huge UAD user. I have built my collection over the years buying mostly the 3 or 6 plugin bundles during sales. Now I have all I need and actually don’t need any new plugins 😃😃 but who knows, I guess they’ll probably catch me someday with something new
No sound examples? Isn't that what's important I tested and Plugin Alliance sounded better with most and they do updates and upgrades.. UA is the Protools of younger generation.. Overpriced hype with no real quality benefits.. Don't get hooked on their marketing Use your ears..
UAD or Plugin Alliance??? Or Both??? Let me know!
Plugin Alliance but with smart purchase you can hone it down to the plugins you really want and own them

The quality of plugins and the CPU they eat is also a very important factor to consider. UAD are good, but CPU intensive.
You’re right! I guess im kind of spoiled with my mac studio that don’t think about that! But I’ll keep that in mind for the next time 😃

Might have to throw Slate in there because SSL bundled with it is 🤯
I don’t know why I never vibed with slate 😞 there something about the visuals that don’t resonate with me. They make great products and a lot of people use them but I guess they are just not for me
Absolutely Slate plugins and Plugin Alliance both have better sounding plugins.. TEST TEST TEST before you decide..
Side question: are you satisfied with the big One Knob?
Yeah I really like it! Specially when paired with better touch tool and keyboard maestro you can do pretty cool things with it. I might do a video about it soon
@@ThatProMix yes please. I'm hesitating purchasing one.
I’m going to do the video I think in a couple of weeks. Hope you can wait that long 😃

Hi! Thanks for your input! Excellent point.. What is your favourite innovative plugin inside PA?

To all viewers - your going to end up with both and then scrap them for acustica and then go stand-alone and then return back again. It’s a cycle
Been there 😂😅
I tried all I never reach for UA sorry but my ears tell me the others are far more better
UAD Forever. But i'd like to have complete bundle for 2.5k and never look back 😍
and its actually 1.5k dollars for people who bought some before so its even better imo
