why dont you prime the model first before painting? why dont you use clear varnish before panel wash and applying decals? without these steps the result is Amazing, nice job!
I do as little as possible with the paint primer as it fills the mould. If I had to say so, I would say that this gradient itself is a primer. Clear is used at the end. Strictly speaking, I mix the clear with a very small amount of the aircraft colour. This makes the whole colour, including the decals, more uniform.

You are correct that the biggest flaw in this piece is the loss of color reproduction. This was not intentional; the colors changed during the production process.
Yaeger is one of my favourite pilots of all time. The films he's in are probably the reason for that. It's nice to have someone as knowledgeable and aesthetically pleasing as you to watch my videos.

途中経過の細かな塗り分けが特撮メカっぽくてやり過ぎに思えましたが、その手間がオープン撮影で青空を背景にすると実機に見える説得力を生んでいるのですね。1/72でこの仕上がりは信じられない程のクオリティです。

F-20 タイガーシャークですか…、わたしも昔作ったことがあるので、懐かしい機体です。まぁ、わたしの場合、筆塗装でしたが…。ちなみに、作っている最中に、ひょっとしたらF-20は台湾に売却されていた可能性があったことを知り、台湾空軍仕様にしました。まぁ、実際に台湾に売却されることは、ありませんでしたが…😅。
