Carl, on one of your older videos I learned how to play the acoustic version of Layla by checking out your video and following it note for note. It took me some time but i got it done. I think your videos are some of the best teaching videos on the net. Thanks Man

Dm pentatonic, although it would probably sound closer if you used the Dm blues scale (basically a minor pentatonic scale with an added flat five, as well as the natural five).

If you really wanted to use Bmin I would suggest using Bflat minor instead. In the key of F major (relative major of D minor), the Bflat is major instead of minor. You will probably do well to begin with using the D minor pentatonic blues scale.

I will be honest. I am kind of a jammer. I figure out, what I can figure out, on the fly, and fake the rest. :) but, when I do want to see how something is actually played, I get very frustrated with many videos. many times, I feel that I have time for a sandwich, and a nap, before the narrator of the video gets to the next chord, or note. I feel that I could have learned from your teaching approach fifteen years ago, or fifteen minutes ago. I will definitely be revisiting this video, and picking up what I can. and, my opinion, is only based on the first two minutes of your video. I really didn't need to see much more to know that you were accurate. side note.... I like to believe (for my own playings sake) that an instrument puts out the feel you put into it. now, I do realize that this only goes so far. but damn, that guitar has a big sound. :)

Terrific lesson. Just a little feedback: After showing the lick step by step, you go straight to normal speed showing the whole lick. I think would be great to play the lick slow tempo one time and only then play it at normal speed. Otherwise you go from note by note to the whole lick at normal speed. That's too big of a step in my opinion. I'm already using the 0.5 speed function, but you get the point. Thanks for the lessons !

Thanks, an excellent tutorial! I am moving on to part 2. Only one criticism, when you play the entire piece at the beginning you rush through it. I know you are clearly capable of playing it properly but it would be helpful if you played it at the right tempo and melody for us to get the feel of the song. That being said we can all learen that the peoper way by listening to Clapton as I did. Thanks again.
